Tis' the season for knock offs (observation/rant)

I know over time that front edge on the hull where the hood sits starts to sag/bow on the SN. Thats just the crappy metton IMO.

this does indeed happen, but doesnt affect hood alignment.

it does create a gap between the hood and seal, though.... which means the hood does not conform to the top deck's distortion.

I am curious about this. Has anyone ever confirmed that this is indeed a sag over time?
Could it not be a feature of the SN hull? :dunno:

it must be, because i have a few SN hulls that do not have this issue.

if you lock the pole up and push down on it, that area flexes a lot.

my 2 pence

what people forget , big companys have big overheads , they have to pay there staff there bills , rent , insurances ,product liability etc development costs. and they have to back up there products , aftersales etc.
the blokes making stuff them selfs fair play for having a go but they do it in there spare time , dont pay overheads like the big guys , tax etc and do they have insurance etc if things go worng and someone ends up injured or even dead. do they have the cash to back up there products and the knowledge??

What you make and sell is actually a copy of the original part I started making back in late 2005. "Your" part(knockoff) is made of brass rather than stainless, which is likelier to encourage galvanic corrosion. The biggest weakness of the part you make is the likelihood that the original terminal will be twisted when tightening the cable. The way mine are designed, the terminal block is a tight fit between the original terminal and two planes of the battery case so that it's almost impossible to twist the terminal on it's weak axis. I've never offered mine for sale(not really profitable when made well)so I'm not really crying foul. I just think it's ironic that this thread was started by a guy selling gaskets out of his house with no overhead so he's able to cut the throats of legitimate PWC dealers that have real operating costs and then the thread is kept alive by someone complaining about knockoffs of his cheap knockoffs of the part I designed.:haha:

That's relative.
A place with a 5 bay shop and 10 employees that puts on a couple of events each year is BIG compared to a single guy splashing parts in his mom's basement.

I highly recommend this "Shop".
They rebuilt my start/stop switch for a fair price and the thing came back to me better then new.

THE SPORT or activity defines if a knockoff warrants purchasing the knock off. It was huge in the 90's for golf and it was on the front page of major publications till the technology passed up the copy cats and the equipment didnt perform. Same with snowboarding equipment- the stuff didnt perform so who would be caught dead riding some of that crap.

If jetski tech doesnt advance enough to warrant purchases of patent products to advance your riding and fun factor then the value is not there.

A product has to do two things:

give you a good experience
give you value

The jet ski companies dont give a rats ass about me so Ill do what I want in regards to parts, even though I still buy quality stuff.
