to much water getting in the hull..

a couple subs, and a fountain or 2 and then 500 bilge is pumping for a good minute to get all the water out. I have not closed the 3 big holes on the front of the hood, and the nose piece still has the holes open. Do those things really take that much water? I couldnt find any body plugs for the hole anywhere, but i was thinking about using some gorilla tape for the nose piece and close 1 or 2 holes with tape on the front of the hood.

I haven't tried it, but Mike Serlin said to just close up the all three holes in front, and that the two in the back are more than enough to flow enough air... just try it and see how she runs.

the nose piece holes really only feed air into the hood....closing them off doesn't really do anything. There is no direct holes into the hull behind them aside from the three holes in the hood.

a good minute? thats 8.3333333333333 gallons!

was up to the bottom of the cylinder almost... like the bilge pump just didnt feel like working or something... i might have to replace my hood seal as well... its crumpled here and there in all types of angles.

this past weekend i had been doing stabs and and i got alot of water in the hull after a few...thought my stock cyphon would do the job...had a plug in my scupper so i could take some breaks:smashfreakB:....had to take the plug out

then i was fine:bigok:

I have the same problem. My RN definitely takes water in faster than my SN. I closed up the front holes partially in the front of the hood with duct tape, that helped a bit. I may close them all the way next weekend to see how it goes.

Mine takes in water like crazy. My bilge pump is not working right now so I am relying on the stock siphon. One short fountain and water is at the bottom of the carbs. I have to ride around for 5 min to get the water out. I am fixing my pump switch this week.

Anyone doing these will always take on water. Even with a new hood and hoodseal that trick makes me take on a ton of water. You'r holding 90% of your underwater for whatever amount of time.

Put another bilge pump in. Also I dont recomend doing any tricks while pumps are still slinging water out. A little bit okay, but when they are hard at work, no. You'llt ake in some water and bend a rod.

On my stock hood I put black duct tape over the front holes and cut open the rear holes a little bit for more air. Works great, can do fountains all day if you want to.

i just went and got some gorilla tape at home depot, closed off my nose holes, and 2 holes on the hood, the ones closest to the center. I was also thinking about making the back holes bigger, but instead i think i will make another hole right above it... IF I CAN FIND MY DREMEL, THAT I THINK SOMEONE STOLE FROM MY YARD $&*^#&*#^$#

Stop screwin around and cover up the front holes! Covering the nose piece holes is pointless, but the hood holes will fix your problem. Look at any aftermarket hood, where do they breathe from??? If your ski is stock-ish you can get by with the stock size rear holes, otherwise you will need to open them up some, or add a handlepole breather system.

Take your hood off (round nose) and look at the front of it, there is 3 holes (2 large, one small) cover those..open up the rear ones a bit if you want. I glassed my front ones shut and opened up the rear I can fountain forever..I also have a 2" one way so as soon as I am back on plane the water is gone.

What happened to scuppers and one way valves. They let water out really fast.
