OK... now that I have computer access I can elaborate more about my build and performance....
Starting off I came off of a 1990 Yamaha SN... My original SN had an X case and a T cylinder bored to a 760... I was running a stock milled head, Mikuni SBN 44 carb, Solas 13 / 17 repitched prop by Group K, Boyessen Reeds, MSD ignition, Factory pipe and a stock waterbox, stock pump...
When I started to take apart my ski I added a bunch of new parts...
I added a Jetmaniac ADA head with 38's, bored my exhaust manifold and head pipe, added a Solas impros 9/15 prop, mag pump, a NEW SBN Mikuni 44 carb because my old carb was apparently untuneable, same motor replacement, billet couplers, RN waterbox and let me tell you... It felt like a complete different animal... I am not sure what parts added what types of performance increases as I added all of this at one shot...
I tested my ski at Sebastian Inlet, Florida and the waves were huge and obnoxious...The wind was ripping and I got my ass handed to me for those 15 minutes of rippage... Lets add the 25 mph wind as well with a nice touch of misty rain... PLUS... I have never ridden or had seen a BOT prior to my purchase, plus, I have not ridden in 1 year... I do work out via major push ups on a consistent basis and I am lean and strong 170 lbs...
The ski was absolutely what I had expected plus more and I simply feel right at home with this ski... It turns on a dime... Does not feel short and rides the waves perfectly... I had throttle levers issues and this caused me to feel uncomfortable... The lever was wayyyyy to high... I like a more throttle down feel with my riding stance...I could not bang it down because the 2 screws were tight and holding strong...
Anyways... this ski RIPS... !!!
The motor pulls sooooo strong from low to top end and it is a completely stable ski... Like mentioned... I felt right at home, but, I got my ass handed to me with the washing machine types of waves and wind bearing down on me... I got major arm pump and after my 15 minutes I was done... !!!
I had a hard time getting back onto the ski and it ripped out of my hands going over 1 wave... Getting on any AM ski at first creates a challenge in itself... The big ass choppy waves was not helping... I mean... This SOB took off like a ROCKET... Hence my name on my chin pad... Tommy Rockets... I crashed on a wave prior and I have the " Get out of jail card by 701 industries... " I slapped it in for my on / off switch and apparently I juiced the hell out of it trying to get over a huge wave trying to swallow my ass and away she flew... PLUS... Sebastian Inlet has major sharks... Like big ones so I felt like chum for a few moments... Fortunately my buddies were near by, plus, the ski did what it is supposed to do... Circle back which is what I was hoping for... Good thing the throttle / motor did not catch any air leaks as this could of been a severe ghost rider... My buddies told me that the ski took off and caught major air so that was pretty cool for their visuals...
Long story short I am extremely pumped with this machine... A few of my buddies that own Rickter Edge models actually like how this ski handles... They actually said it handles better then their own skis... They have larger motors and they were pumped on how great my motor works and pulls...
I got back to Raleigh, NC... Flushed my ski out in the near by lake... On the trailer... water is still majorly cold in my near by lake... Plus... I flushed it out at the Sebby ramp...
Whoever has thoughts about buying a BOT... Have NO DOUBTS... You will LOVE IT... They are built right... Tony and his crew were great to deal with... SUPER HAPPY WITH NO REGRETS..... !!!
Keep brapping... !!!
