Other Trailer or hitch carrier... which do you prefer?

I have a trailer for my 750SXi but I think I want to switch to a hitch carrier. I like a trailer for a runabout but it seems like a little to much for a standup. What you yalls opinions?

both have their place.....

was just talking about this with a buddy the other day...the longer and more places you ride jetskis, the more avenues of launching become useful..

sometimes I use a trailer, mostly a hitchhauler..but sometimes will just pack everything in the bed of the truck....definatly the least amount of wheels to the ground the better, but it all depends on the ridespot and the gear you need..

I just bought a hitch carrier for mine. It's not made for up to use yet but i think it should be fine. i hated my ski jumping 5 inches off the ground with a trailer. even when i was trying to be careful with it..

Yeah it seems like no matter how tight I strap it down it always comes loose. I also do not like not being able to see it when its on the trailer.

i never had a problem with ratchet straps, and ive seen the trailer catching a cupple feet of air.lol

The only thing ive ever used is a trailer and ive put a LOT of miles on it with no probs, I see pics all over the X of carriers and skis in the back of trucks but I have no idea how yall launch them..? especially when your by yourself. please school me on the subject..

I prefer a hitch hauler with a beach cart in my bed. My trailer makes unloading and loading much easier, as well as has a box on it for carrying gear. However, I much prefer things like parking, reduced cost of tolls and etc with the hitch hauler. Also, trailers are more maintainence than a hitch/cart combo (because I'd own a cart wether I had a trailer or not, very useful). I own both so I can pull 2 skis, but if I had only one ski and only had one choice to haul, I'd have the hitch hauler only.

I could put the ski in the bed but I like to minimize the salt on my truck. Also, the hitch hauler is the perfect height for easy loading and the bed is much higher and more work.

Lauch with a beach cart. The 1st time you use a hitch hauler and can park anywhere you want to, you wont want to use your trailer anymore. Parking at the lake is easy for me but if I want to stop for food or go on a trip with my ski (like Daytona), having a trailer sucks.

I switched to a hitch hauler about two years ago and never looked back. If you have a beach cart and one ski it is only way to roll.

Hitch hauler if you have a truck or SUV that can handle the tongue weight. As others have said, they are fantastic! It's like driving with a few people in the back is the only difference. No trailer to back up, unhook at a hotel, or worry about parking. When I launch in fresh water, I just back up all the way into the water and slide it off. I wouldn't do this in salt water though.

I have used both. THe hitch hauler is sweet for longer trips and going 75 in the fast lane. Easy to get on and off alone. The trailer makes life real easy for the fact that everything is there, the only thing I do is fill up mt rinse off water bottles with warm water gas up and go. When using my hitch cargo carrier, the only thing that sucks is it takes about an hour to load everything up and get ready with the trailer lock and load ready to roll. I will admit the last pismo trip I used my hitch hauler and it was nice.

he is on this site sells the best one...its not the cheapest, but very well thought out with lots of tie downs..and the option for a class 1 hitch off the back
X2, he is the one that made mine and it is very nice.

$59.00 at Trailer supply warehouse or Harbor freight. Get a cargo carrier and it can be used for other things also.

And when the main tube bends and your ski slides down the highway that extra $140 won't seem like that much.
