300/440/550 Tubbies on X2, exhaust outlet suggestions?

I put this post on pwct.d.y with no responses and hope to get some suggestions here. I finally decided to take on the X2 I have had sitting in my basement for around 10 years. I am putting tubbie II's on it and am toying with exhaust exit ideas. I was wondering if anyone ever ran the pipe inlet into the bottom of the waterbox and exited from the top, or flipped the waterbox to do this since there are baffles in the the box. I am running a Coffman pipe with an aftermarket waterbox, and wanted to run the outlet of the pipe to the bottom of the waterbox and then out the top to a 440 old school exhaust above the bond line out the ski. I was also thinking of teeing the waterline running to the inlet of the stinger to a flow control valve an the other side of the tee to flow overboard. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

First of all, thank you for the reply, I thought of that and have not ruled that solution out; but I thought for an old school meets new school look the outlet with the hose that is seen on this hull http://www.x-h2o.com/threads/21267
would look cool and get it out of the water in most hard cornering situations. The hump on the hood will be cut off, the gas cover will be filled and the hull will be shortened, in addition to the tubbie II's.

When I put tubbies on my sx I ran into the same problem. I ended up cutting a teardrop shaped hole in the tubbie that would fit the outlet piece outside the hull. I glassed in all around the cut of course before installing the outlet. Function wise it works great because the tubbie deflects water away from the outlet, eliminating any back-pressure issues. It is however very ugly to have a hole in the middle of the tubbie. The 440 style tube would be cool but very loud I'm sure. My aftermarket exhaust and waterbox leaves my ears ringing after a while. A friend of mine put the x-metal outlet in front of his tubbie. It fit perfect and looks super clean.

It is very easy to place the waterbox on 95 vintage floatation foam carved out a bit then run the outlet STRAIGHT out the left side to an outlet of you choice. Mine is home made.

Thank you for all the replies, this site is the sh.t, I'll try to get some pics and post as I install them. I have an old 650sx exit, a cut off X2 exit, a unmolested X2 outlet, a old side exit from a 440 and can get some 1 7/8 aluminum tube to make a custom exhaust outlet. I just think the old school exhaust would look totally different. I wish this was one of the first posts in the new X2 forum.

I have an original Ocean Pro side exit, if needed.

How about just getting a londer exhaust tube and moving the outlet back, so its just before the bulkhead....will it clear?

does anyone have exact measurements of where to mount tubbys for best performance?

i may have to install some this winter....

I bought mine off of someone that had never installed them. The exhaust outlet at the rear after the tubbie will not work its around 6" longer than where bulkhead comes down. I'll get some pics and measurements of where I am going to install them. Making your own would not be that difficult and I believe someone here or on pwct.d.ay made there own, then broke down and bought the real tubbies and could not believe the difference. I'll keep you guys posted.

According to FLCracker you save some weight without the rear exhaust. In a superjet anyway. Weight loss has been my focus lately. I got a little too custom with my last hull and it showed on the scale. That and all the patched cracked didn't help either.........

I installed mine closer to the bond line...raised it about 2 inches but then I installed rear exhaust...tired of it blowing in my ear...
