Yep I have done that a dozen times and it works great.
It doesn’t come up from stress in the material just use a heat gun and get it hot. Do not pull too hard just hard enough to form it.
Seams are for losers it is a much nicer job without seams I even do the bottom of the tray around the rear sides to meat up with the rail turf without seams.

we just started doing it this way. one piece on a 750SX, yes even with the rails and back spots.

we held the mat infront of a heater and held it with welding gloves, then a heat gun on the back side, worked great

so it looks like your starting from the bottom and working your way up is that right? are you test fitting it before you use the contact cement?

Yes I work my way up and there is no test fit it is cut big on three sides and the tray edge started first all other edges are cut in with a NEW razor knife.

Heat and a pattern, it will cost you more turf (to make the pattern)and you will need help from someone to heat and hold, trim then heat and hold then repeat. Unless you can get Crammit to come off the pattern?????????????????????????? It can be done, just not quick or easy.

what pattern are you talking about???? they are cutting them as they go.......

I have templates for the SJ, may try the one solid piece this time, just wont cut the slits for the seams where it turns down.

I'll second the DAP Weldwood, but just be sure you don't apply too much.

The best way to apply it is to apply a thin coat and let it dry to a tack then apply another coat and let that dry to a tack (To both the turf and tray). Then you stick the turf down and be careful cuz once you stick it down its down.

This is one job where two sets of hands are *really* useful.
