FLIR does it again, turn your iPhone or Android into a thermal imaging camera for under $500.

I bet there's more than a few guys on here that would use this on a daily basis. This would be priceless for guys in the home inspection business.

I saw a link to a $200 dollar one but the apple one is still $400.

I can't count the uses I have for such an item but then again, I was ready to pop $120k for a full size camera 10 years ago and make a full time job of it.

I am still kicking myself for not investing in FLIR 10 years ago when I had the inside scoop.

That's not a bad price if it works well, it will be better in a few years when other manufacturers get into the market and bring the price down for a run of the mill setup. I would love to have one for my house right now, I have loads of hot spots on my drywall, I can pick them out with a hand held thermometer, but this would be much better!

We bought a FLIR about 6 years ago for $10,000. Today the equivalent model is under $1000 and it works amazing. We use it for water mitigation real easy to find wet spots in a house.

I saw the announcement for those a while back, really impressive and like you said perfect for home inspectors.

I use a couple of FLIR cameras at work including a T440 and some fixed mount A300s but think we may have to get one of these for quick use.

The only bad thing is that it is phone specific but the price point is so reasonable, it would be more than paid for in the standard 2 yr phone term. If not, you just keep the phone and dedicate it to thermal scans only.

Otherwise you can wait for the price of the T3, 5's or 7's to come down further.

Picked up an off contract Alltel iphone 5S tonight for $40 so I finally ordered me a Flir One!!!

All said and done, I'm in for $200 and have it on a dedicated device so I don't have to worry about swapping cases all the time.

Very interested to see how accurate the FLIR is compared to something like a IR gun. One of my PV's get way hotter than the other

You will be amazed at how the world looks through a thermal camera. Afterwards, you will want to use it for everything. The uses are endless! The cool factor is abundant and the data is priceless!

I've had no issues with mine, but I don't keep the phone in the case the whole time.
