So when are these actually going to be available for purchase???

Obviously the more time you have to wreck your hull the more opportunity you have to improve your design. But at some point you gotta call it 'gud e knuff' right?

When you say it's "gud 'nuf", well that's just like saying " I give up". This ain't no Tweeker Super freak build thread.......

Thats fine... that was just another way of saying...

Well here you go...so basicly I got a wild hair and decided to shave down the hangy down things . I ended up taking off about 1/2 inch on each side to match my Tweaker ride plate.

The net effect was outstanding ! It made the ski MUCH easer to slide and break loose. I was a little concerned it might be to loose..... Not at all it still rails in a turn . Not quite as hard as a stock chan but still very well.

Keep in mind I'm running a 144 mag and a deep JD intake so your results may vary if you are on a stock pump etc. I rode a tank today so I got a good feel for it. If a super freak is a 10 on the loosely goosey scale then the chan HDT trim is about an 8.

Curious how in handles in the salt chop..... BTW you can still run WOT with out ANY problem.

Time required .... Literally about 4 hrs.... Maybe a little longer if you go back and pretty it up. I used 3 layers of 17 oz biax but am going to sand it out and add a layer of 19 oz carbon .

I'm not a real hull /part builder ..... But I play one on the X. I don't plan on selling ride plates it's not worth my time if I can't pull 175.00 a plate. Not to mention the hours Invested making two molds....

I agree with sporty on this...the $150 that the Freestyle-Factory charges is legit and they're making them with help. A solo operation with personal time for R&D plus mold making, materials, and shipping makes it come out about that.

I'm gonna chop my chines off this off season too. Strong work, for an Irishman, Kev.

No need to be a negative Nancy. Hard for me to tell you its too much money if I don't know the price :). I'd give you $176 for one of these chine free plates, but a few questions first.

How many Chan's have you tried these on?
Do they fit well or do they need to be fitted some? Some fitting doesn't terrify me, i'm just trying to understand why they wern't sold before. I assume the reason is universal fitment but I have no idea.
Are the holes beveled like Steve's plates or are you using button head hardware?

I have money burning a hole in my Paypal Account... lets make something happen!

Ugh... I want to do this so bad. I don't think it would work out so well on the Carbon Kevlar, but its good to know that it works on glass Chans.

Finally! Glassy Chan gets some praise.
My hangy down thingy hurt a little at the sight of tweekers hangy down thingy reduction. Most guys want bigger, but not Kev....

I'm on a phone so I'll address each question.

1. Sorry to be such a NN

2.only one ... Mine

3.they don't fit well they fit great.

4. Never sold one because I never made another one to sell ...

5. You have to do your own holes they are all different... Well at least the two I have messed with. You supply the hardware. Bolt lengths vary from hull to hull.

I might revisit making some.. To be done right I need to make another mold so the plate would be a pothead visual product. I'll only make them out of full carbon ... As the thickest part of the plate can only be
4mm ish thick.... Pot head is a typo but I like better.

I would grind on that hull faster than a cat could lick his a$$...4 inch angle grinders do not discriminate . Might be a little fuzzy with Kevlar ... Just glass it with some 3 " carbon tape. I'll have it in the salt this weekend if the forecast holds ... That orta tell to tell.

Snow bunny ... I ain't studying you boy.

So when you say I have to do my own holes... I have to drill them and bevel them?
My concern is lining up the 2 bolts in the bottom of the plate.

Surprised you're doing full carbon for the plate. I think mine is all glass but I suck at composites. I'll probably end up cutting it close to flush either way.

Swap, U can swing this mod in the off season. It's not a huge project. U could either cut the chines and glass over them or scuff up the valleys and fill the strakes with whatever void filler u like and lay some glass/carbon over that then sand it smooth (and repaint), thereby reducing the depth of the chines from peak to valley.

I prefer Sporty's method best though.

I think it also should be noted that grinding softens the pointy down things as well. If you fill the void 1/2 inch then you jack up the transition to the ride plate.

I done thunk it thru boys
