300/440/550 ***ULTIMATE*** 440/550 picture thread

wow man that makes me sad that you spent all that money and time on that thing and its barely seen the water. What are you waiting for mate?!?!
Yeah I know it's a waste!
I went back to GP racing for quite a while, then built a superjet & blaster. I still enjoy the old school tricks you can do on the old standups & especially love how you can go full noise, then flick the ski totally sideways & slide forever, you just cant do that on a modern hull, but the newer hulls are so much more stable & start off with such bigger transfer area & pumps.
You have to really work at it with the 440 compared to the newer skis, I can see that people could find this appealing as it makes it a real challenge to master these older hulls, where most people can just hop on a superjet & be able to ride it half ok in the first few minutes!
The only thing stopping me from taking it back out is 2 x carb kits (as the gaskets are disolving in the carbs just from sitting there), or through some later model carbs on & I have to re-register it. In Australia rego is a real rip-off

sounds like you put a lot of love and time into it. Im glad you beat the crap out of it and kept it as nice as you have. Not a lot of people out there have kept their skis so immaculate as yours.

I hope you get the time to her going again and start having beating the hell out of that thing!
Yeah, they do sound sweet & you can do some fun stuff on them you just cant do on newer skis.
Not sure what to do with it yet, either sell it or or turn it into a coffee table lol!

Wow, I cant believe ive never seen this thread until now.. This is my first ski..91 440..picked up it april '10.. learned to ride it, then did a bunch of custom hull work and this was actually my first attempt at doing fiberglass work.. Widened the trey 3 inches, added foot holds, and reinforced bond line under the hood.. the ski had the engine in it when i bought it.. pjs viper cases, stock reed cylinder with rogo head and keihin 42 mm carb.. also had jetport pipe that had really short chamber.. over the winter the ski got:

factory full pice, shredmaster grate, plate combo, jetsport exhaust mani, coffman waterbox, jetco bored blueprinted pump ocean pro outlet nozzle, made several prop changes most recently straight 17 pjs impeller..

i plan to put a graphic kit on it and add tubbies..true the hull and i really wanna make longer strakes..the ski is fast enough that it gets squirely at top speed which im guessing is 47-48mph.. drag raced a stock 701 blaster and it was dead even.. i plan to go through the engine with some port work and add dual 38sbns

550 I picked up from 1Scray

Picked this up 2 weeks ago from 1scray, super clean 550 with a Mariner Pipe, waterbox, & rideplate as well as a stainless skat track. Swapped in a spare motor I had laying around, and boom a fully functional 550. I need to post some motor pics, its so clean!

My neighbor had an 86 JS300 sitting in the weeds that he gave me for free, hadnt been run in a few years and it seemed like a fun low cost project. All it needed was a new battery and a good cleaning of the carb/fuel system and it seems to run good now. I didnt really like the blue color and wanted to make it somewhat unique, so I painted it similar to my 750XI. Now both my wife and I have something to ride, and this 300 will probably get me into wanting a bigger stand up in the future. So far including the battery and paint I've got $60 into so I'm good for now :) These things are fun though! Like all the pictures so far, this is a great forum

Got a 88 440 for my first stand up, bought it running about a year ago but needed to put my touch on it. Milled head, bored .5 over, SBT crank, R&R Jet Tech exhaust, LS ex mani, OP intake mani, SBN44, LS deep intake grate, Quadrafin ride plate, Diatech Goldfinger throttle and some custom aluminum braces a good friend welded up for me.

Ford grabber green, with chrystler hemi orange splatter

This is off my old bmx bike. Had to make a throttle cable to make this and the throttle wheel work.
