There's guys out of South Whales who build machines for CNC surfboards and other. Looking into CNC (for 'the love of God' symmetry), I've done 3 axis CNC w/ foam up to 4" thick x 4 sections, from 3D models. Gives you the freedom of design with practical 3D sketching, then scan.

Got Dakine footholds (good start), just need souls integrated

found them: only um 400$ bare!!, I'd feel guilty buying these... 2 afternoons of glassing.

It doesn't drift like something with wheels because it steers from the rear.

Drifts cars must drive from the rear, our steering is from hull/ water surface (shape)/steering, when drifting.

Good, bad, and ugly. Had to take a side step to correct an epoxy lower case. It's kinda disappointing when you pay 5 digits, you would expect this not to be an issue. Seller shipped poorly and damaged plate.

Why do that to an fx1? I think this project would be perfect for a sxr1500 hull. You have a lot more real estate to work with. It looks as if you're making a fx1 (rare desirable hull) and turn it into a x2 with a katana seat. I'm all for innovation and creativity but I'm a little saddened to see this done to something as special as a fx1. At the same time, I'm intrigued to see how you make this work. I just hope it actually gets completed because I do enjoy seeing builds get completed.

Fair and relatable. Don't know the sxr1500 hull. Only had experience modding Superjet hulls. The FX1 is (as I understand) a bit slicker w/ chimes. Now, I'm opening to 160. The extra sponsons allow the magic. Dig and drift

It only took 4 y of school design and 40 years of practice to achieve Weird. TU. It's how we get interesting

Roughed out tunnel, patient is in recovery.
Interesting technique; surprised how well chopped strand/cabisol can make the ultimate structural filler.
Micro balloons additive to epoxy can simplify tunnel sanding.
No choke intake, 160mm + smooth hydro @ forward and 45 approach.

I'm so reinforcing the hull (@strategic points) to cage the beast
