At the lake there's not much you can do hence my asking for a prevention of some sort.

Have yiu tried drying jt with a shammy whene you are done? You dont need soap to at least minimize spots.
Thought about it, but don't because the oversized mud puddles they call lakes in Nebraska are so dirty. My ski is usually covered in nasty water with all sorts of poop I don't want to rub into the paint. I have a black truck and a black Camaro too so that's probably part of why I'm weird about the paint on this thing lol.
Ya vinegar and water 50/50 works great!

Vinegar will strip the wax, but will remove the water spots and that's it. It won't eat into your paint. Vinegar is an acid that dissolves the calcium and magnesium deposits, that's why it works so well. Vinegar wipe followed by a spray wax and microfiber towel is more than enough

This is actually a great idea ! I mean the table thing has anyone done it before ? I mean think about it ,if u insulate the engine bay there's no need to ever get up and go get a beer again they'll always be right at ur feet . Heck you could even leave the stock Yamaha electronics in there as well lol use the start stop switch with a actuator to open the hood . Only down side is the switch would fail after like three pushes . Okay I'm doneNo idea. My ski is worth twice that and I ride it. When I'm done riding I cover it. Then I ride it again. I honestly don't spend anytime looking at it, unless I am on it, and at that point it's soaking wet. Maybe if I made a coffee table out of it..........,.
