I've got some loctite marine epoxy that is rated at 3000psi, would this be ok to use on the motor mounts?

Yep if i was fixing it I would rip the liner out and start fresh. Long term if done correctly it will be fine.

Quick fix pump glue under liner and re glass delaminated arears.

Alright so here's the progress so far. I cut out the back section of the liner to expose the engine plates. What I found was very disappointing. The mounts were only connected to the liner and not the hull. I have no idea how the motor did completely come loose in the bay. Also the mounts are a one piece design and on the left side set the holes are tapped so close to the edge that the threads are protruding out the side of the piece of stock. What a PITA to grind off all the old epoxy from the mounts.

So my question now is I'm thinking the mounts should be cut in half (remove the center piece of stock) and the left side be 're-tapped all together? I'm planning on bolting these to the motor mounts and setting the motor back in to mark off where the mounts should go. My issue is the surface they mount to is rounded not flat so there isn't a lot of contact area to get epoxy down.

One other thing I need a new steering cable and the one in the hull measures 122" roughly and the spare SN cable is too long by about 4". Is the one I have a RN or something else?

I use West Systems G-flex to adhere the mounts to the bottom of the hull. It's a bit expensive but works awesome. The stuff is carzy, it will actually cure under the water surface for a hull repair. It is also resistant to vibrations and flexing so it won't crack. After that is cured rough up the mounts and g-flex with some 60 or 80 grit and lay glass over everything. Check out my build thread linked in a earlier post to see the process I did. Good luck man. Sucks doing to work but it's worth doing right.

The loctite stuff I got will adhere underwater as well. I looked over your thread and I'm gonna kinda mimic what you did to fix mine.

Got one of the mounting plates cut down at work this morning. 3 to go!

Drill some extra holes in that plate to allow the adhesive to flow up into it to help better locate/adhere it to the hull.

While its apart shine a torch through those scuppers and make sure there's no delamination or cracks.

So I got some more done over the weekend. I got the mounts cut and set the motor back in a realized there wasn't enough surface area to glue them back down. I took some two part foam and built up the low spots and started to glass over them. Hopefully tonight I will be able to glue the mounts in.

Last night I epoxied down the mounts after I mocked the motor back up in the hull. My next issue is when I glass over the plates how do I keep resin from getting in the threads? I'm thinking if I fill up the threads with grease the resin won't stick in there and I can just drill through the layer of glass to get to the the threads again? Anyone ever use this method?

You can melt wax and put in threads tap afterwards to get wax out, get some modeling clay stuff in the threads, ear plugs work well to
