Watercraft Factory Sponsons

So I was the making that these sponsons would come a bit thicker, maybe filled with something.. But they are hollow, and not that thick..

Is this right? Should I waste my time putting these on?

I'm not knocking these, I'm just unsure if these are supposed to be this thin..

That's a a lot of screw holes...! And to those who might have an idea about this, the ski is a 2014 super jet...

Look like a race style sponson sleek and slender, for reduced drag. You could fill the cavity up with some 2 part foam and sand it until it contours your hull sides. That's what most all do anyhow. But you have a post 08 sj with somewhat of a sponson integrated into the layup. They may be enough to get the ride you want in addition to what the hull already has..
-Fwiw I've had and heard many a good things about Blowsion tubbie2s or Bolt on destroyers. I run them as do a few others I know and have been very pleased with them. Those may help better depending on what you want and how you want the hull to react. But if it's mostly stability and nose up, you may want something wider for the surf.

All depends on preference. I have these on my SN and I think they work great. Then I have the Tom 21 on my fx and they also work great. As you can see they Have major differences.

Run Em, I had a ski with screw on ones that were a half inch thick and it made a difference

What did you use for screws?

#8 ss screws and I pre drilled, used a variation of lengths depending on the place

Ride report! Wow talk about a difference, gave the sj so much more. Almost like riding an AM hull. Turns on a swivel, it seems now

I got a pair of these, have not put them on yet. There going on a 750sx. I can't wait.

Did you use foam or anything? I plan on foaming/sanding the inside. Then one layer of glass in-between the hull and sponsons.

I didn't do anything. It has plenty of screws holding each on also 5200. I put 5200 on each screw hole and under the heads of each screw prior to the final screwing on. If these don't last I will foam the next set or just buy blowsion but let's face it that's a lot of money haha

Ski did ride surprisingly better. Now just tighten EVERYTHING on your pole and you'll be good!
