I decided to go with Waterdawg rather then the XFT b/c they would be better for me b/c I'm not tall enough for the XFT. Here we go, and thanks Jackie for the help.

After getting all the turf off, I cut into hull and tried to line them up even.
tip: never wear short sleeves when working with a saw and fiberglass.

Day 2 part 2 and Day 3 part 1

Working under a shop light getting bit the F up by the Mosquitos. That night started to foam with foam that was old. Bad choice. It didn't set right and after messing with it for an hour, had to take holds off and wait till the next day. Went to West Marine to get 2 part foam, and it was $95. lol no way wound up getting the closed cell foan in the spray can for $20. worked well. It has a tube to get it down deep, and expanded a lot. Messy as crap.

DAY 3 Part 2

Starting to glass the holds in. I sanded everything real well and messed up on my first batch of resin. I put 9 squrits of resin and 9 of the hardner w the silica powder. Bad move, it almost blew up. It hardened in a/b 30 sec to the point it melted the container I had it in, started smoking and popping like firecrackers. After I got the mix right it went much better.

DAY 3 Part 3

Finished up the glass, 3 layers. I am going to sand everything in the morning then coat it with another layer of resin just to make sure, let it dry and start to turf.

If I may,
do your self a favor and cut down the floor of those foot holds to be level with the tray.
I know it's only 3/8 to 1/2" higher but it makes a difference.
Also the ankle cutouts should go further in on the sides.

Those 2 things I will be changing on mine as soon as I pull my finger out of my a$$ and rip the turf off.
One more thing I will be changing is where the foothold hits the very top of my foot. I think I need more space there as well just so I can add more padding.

I saw when I was installing them the lip on them that was preventing them from being flush with the tray. Why would they make them like that? I didn't cut into the side for the ankle that much b/c I would not of had anything to screw too. I dont like the way the foot holds are. Someone should make a foothold that fits right and how hard is it for them to make a damn templet???

That would be too much to ask. :lightning: Too much money went to the R&D on the footholds, so the finished product could not actually fit what it was intended for. You bought an after market part, you should have to modify it. (sarcasm)

You are installing REV footholds in a SuperJet.... Hmmmmmm???

I wonder why they don't bolt right up :261:

maybe because they are designed
for a completely different hull

:Thinkingof_:

notice how the ski below is not a superjet....

I used them and absolutely love them... It's just more work to make them fit right.

I was just pointing out that the product is designed for another ski.. Just so you are informed... I understand your frustrations though... REVs are very difficult to instal in a SJ... Lots of modifications...

As far as the raised up lip on the hold... no worries there, if you use the Hydro Turf 25mm underpadding...

This was the 2nd time I installed WD holds. I must say the 2nd time was alot easer. (Its also helps when its not your ski so you dont really care how it comes out.:poke: ) I think the turf is the hardest part of the whole job. Its a good thing Geno will be done before I get over there to help out today.:cheer2:
