Waterdawg Prepreg Carbon f1-pro

There are not many. I think he said 4 or 5 ever produced. I have heard great things about this hull from those that have them, mainly you and Jeff. But even the feedback you got when people rode yours in daytona seemed overwhelminly positive. I Feel very fortunate to have this hull and the x-jet. The x-jet is still my favorite hull design.........I have just always liked it. But I like the F1 b/c it is so custom and so crazy. I might not be able to control this one, but I know it will be an absolute blast to ride. I think the ultimate freestyle ski would be a sxr based bottom and wider, but this will just be so freakin fun and that is what it is all about.

I thought scotts was easy to ride and it did not feel too small. there is definitely a small learning curve, but that's a good thing. He had a pretty tame motor and it felt very peppy to me. After I got back on my ski I was kinda sad cause it felt big and slow.

I was surprised with Scott's too. I thought for sure it was gonna kick my azz after riding the Octanes, but I actually liked it. fun and easy to ride.

OMG what did that hull set you back? If you don't mind me asking...

If you buy one from Waterdawg I think you can get them for $5500 unassembled and $6000 assembled. Jeff and I have had some things going on concerning not getting parts and things not being built to specs. We just took the time to consolidate everything over a 2 1/2 year period into one deal and make everything square again. He held up his end of the bargin and went above and beyond what I had asked. I achually refused to allow him to pay for shipping of the hull b/c of how out of his way he went to make things right. It was a rocky road to get to this point but in the end he did what he said he would do :Banane35:

Started doing the plumbing. Installed drive shaft tube and 5200 around all threads. Picked up the trick ASS exhaust outlet.....only 8 bucks at home depo. Waterdawg used to do this on allot of his hulls and I thought it was a really nice touch. Provides a nice sealing flange and flexable joint for the exhaust tube. I will have to have the pipe constructed b/c there will be a few bends in the tube, but that is no big deal.

I decided not to run a scupper on this build. I figured this was more of an arial ski b/c subbing this boat might prove to be difficult. You know it will ride high out of the water and even if you try a sub it will just pop right back out of the water. For that reason I think 1 or 2 bilges will work perfect. The air intakes will be narrow slits in the rear of the hood and the intakes tubes will go several inches above the liner. That should be all I need

I'd put a scupper in, FX's sub just fine, more easily than the bigger skis because the hole they have to punch in the water is way smaller. You'll be a little lighter than a 550, and I can sub one of them 10 ft easily.

The bigger skis are harder to sub because they displace way more water due to the bigger volume insice.

I will munch on it a while.......still not sold on a scupper. I will ride a buddies fx-1 next week and see how it is. Might throw the F1 hood on it and see how much water it takes on

What do all the fx guys w/ modified hoods think? Scupper or no? Feedback would be appreciated

Thrust's new scupper might even match the exhaust outlet pretty well in terms of size, that could be a good option or go small with a Sea-doo ball drain/scupper like I have. You can put the drain plug in and leave it closed too.

Had this on hand incase I wanted to do a scupper. I can modify the rear by flattening it out and mounting a flapper style scupper on the inside, or run a internal valve in line. If I polish it they will match. This style has a rubber gasket and is threaded for a really nice seal. It also hooks to a 1 1/2 in tube. Not huge but still will make for a sanitary design. If I run a flap it will also be protected from water ripping it off b/c it is not handing off the back.

engine mock up today. Just wanted to test fit the pipe and motor to see where I needed to mount brackets and such. It is tight on the exhaust side but all and all it fit great! Better than it did in the SJ

Everything clears the top deck and hood as well :Banane09: Looking good so far thankfully. No major snags thus far. I also made the hand hold buckets larger the other night.

I cringe at the thought of putting a handlepole on this thing..........thats just going to kill the sleek look :toothache:

Put an Xmetal handpole on it, IMO that is the only way to keep it looking sleek. Why did you not have the hood/hull channeled for the pole?

Man I really wish someone would come out with a hull that just bolts or clamps together somehow! Imagine the ease of wrenching!!!!

Looks amazing!
