After inspecting and riding mike's xjet, I think his quality is top notch for what you get. The downside is the waiting time. Thats the only problem with his business right now and some ppl have been pushed aside because of it(bad for your business).

He has to keep communication up and deliver parts in a more reasonable time.

I saw one of Jeff's hulls in Daytona, the one Mosquini won, and it looked very nice.

Ask Mosquini if he has received his handlepole yet though.

How long would you wait for a part? Any part. Especially if said part was promised to you it was already on the way and you found out later you were blatantly LIED TO by the maker of said part?

I would say that the downside is the owner of the business cannot effectively run it.

Norberts hulls are in a different class than all other hulls on the market. They are by far strongest on the market hands down. They are made for the surf, his tubbies are removable and the back 3" of the ski can bolt on or off for flatwater. The materials he uses make them the lightest and strongest, his attention to detail makes the money it costs worthwhile.

Let's take Mile9c1.....he paid for the hull, he flew down there in Jan 06 to help him lay it up.

He finally got it about a week ago.
That would try my patience, but I am glad he's happy with it.

I have Jeff's footholds and am very happy with them. I got them in less than a week. However, I paid for them only after I got them.

But I gotta tell you - the only reason I am not even considering a 66E project is the dependence on Jeff for parts, as sole source.
Peace of mind means a lot to me, and I need a company that will be around when I need them.

Sadly, that excludes WDK. I thought he had turned the corner earlier this year, but apparently old habits don't die easily. He has had this reputation for a few years now, and he can't shake it even without Sub constantly reinforcing it online.

Hunter's hull was ok, but was lacking on attention to detail. The black bulkhead had white 5200 smeared all over the seams and I would have expected better especially considering all the support Hunter has given Jeff.

:frown: :dunno: i dont understand that either...it did look tacky...

when he finished my hull all black the inside was a sealed with black something or another..

also hunters is prepreg (top) and the prepreg has a weird look to it done

Well, we were lied to again (go figure) Apparently he is very upset about what I posted, but what was I supposed to do. The post got him to answer the phone (either that or he forgot to check his caller ID before he picked up) But on the other end of the phone was the same old song and dance. No parts today, imagine that :bs2:

I must admit that I was initally disappointed that the hull was not, in my mind, completed to the standard I associate with WDK. The attention to detail was lacking on areas such as the white 5200 on the bulkgead, wings still attached, railes not trimmed and sanded, the scupper was on the rear when I specified it to be in the pump area, and the whole shipping issue. Plus the handlepole was not completed and shipped with the rest of the ski. However, now that I have it home and can look at it in more detail w/o being pissed about him shipping it down to GA, I must say that where it lacks in one area it makes up for in anouther. I was going to trim the rails and rear of the ski anyway so it only adds a little time to my assembly. I will need to reinforce the wings if I want to keep them but I am not to concerned about it. From a customer stand point everything I specified at the beginning should have been followed to a T. The real test is how I like it when it is on the water and how the durablity is....then I will make up my mind. I am currently addressing the fine detail issues and the fit and finish is being raised to my liking.

Well, keep us updated on this build - because everything else aside, it's still a nice caliber build

My $49 footholds came in about a week. Once we trimmed off all the excess material, they went in pretty nicely. I was happy, though I've heard a lot of negative, too.

Looks like history repeating itself. Sounds like ordering from Waterdawg is like rolling the dice. Nothsure what you going to get.
