I was talking about the black gas tank. Is it glassed right to the bottom-deck? Seems like a good idea, no issues with a gas tank breaking loose and spreading fuel all over the hot motor.
well today got the start to some holes patched in the bottom of the hull just layed up 2 layers of 1708 on the inside of the hull still waiting to dry. i will also be laying 2-3 full length layers from nose to bulk head on the floor to build it back up. Then i will flip the boat over and lay one layed of 1708 and a layer of carbon and vacuum bag it. Since i will be paint boat read and white i was thinking about buying some white hybrid carbon/fiberglass to use on bottom. will post pics when dry

The tank actually has a flange all around the bottom and it is bolted to inserts in the hull.

I guess I shouldn't bore you with how much further I had to take my rev than this? My top and bottom deck had started to separate from failed barrel roll attempts so I ended up splitting the decks.
Found out the engine bay liner was
and had moldy foam under it so i ripped it out. Installed all my own inserts and wrapped the entire engine bay in about 3 layers of carbon.
I didn't like the bulkhead design so I chopped it just above the battery tray and built a shelf into the top deck and then glass the "shelf" part and the original bulkhead together with glass. Much more sturdy feeling. I am mounting the ebox to the tray bulkhead that I reinforced as well.
I found a leaky one way valve so I pulled that and installed a scupper. Currently I am making the engine bay somewhat visual carbon and buttoning the tray up.
O and I am planning on making daytona in two weeks even though I live an hour and a half from my ski and can only work on it saturday and sunday before daytona. Let me know if you want pictures of anything.
