Barry, Thanks for the new options!!!!
I do allready own a tripod. The problem is putting it in my backpack while I'm riding and setting it up for the 5 minutes sessions that I record in between riding.
Tripods absolutely make better quality videos, however, I tend to miss a lot of shots with a tripod. (Unable to move as quickly from one ski to another) I know what will make the vids better, however, I am not willing to make those sacrifices.
I like being able to jump boat wakes and ride like a maniac with my camera in my backpack. Carrying a tripod would make my rides back and forth from the ramps boring and slow.. I enjoy ripping it!
Same with an expensive camera. I would have to ride like a sissy (fear of breaking it). I'm just a rider....who happens to video tape while I'm not riding. Note:My camera is sooo cheap it doesn't even have anti-shake. This makes the videos even MORE jumpy!
A little history... (I have been making videos since 1977) My dad had one of the first VHS video Cameras. It weighed approximately 75 pounds (literally). You had to carry a giant VCR with you and plug in a camera the size of an actual TV Camera. The battery by itself was the size and weight of a jetski battery. We used to make StarWars movies in the basement...
