b1s are fun in certain surf conditions, but they are never harder to ride than a sj,I switch off with b1 riders in our crew towards the end of a ride, for something new but mostly so I can nap in comparison to the sj.heart rate drops at least 20 points. Its always nice to get back on the sj with the same motor and feel like your making more power too booot:bump:

they are hard to ride in surf compared to an sj......think about it.....what is harder to get on in the surf?...thats my point... and when you lose control....which one will hurt less if it hits you....also backs up my point...that b1 are all around harder to ride in the surf than sj.....this comment excludes people who just ride without getting inverted....like most SJ surf riders...And i love to just ride the waves and thrash, but thats not the kind of riding im talking about. Im talking huge air, backflips, and rolls , and basic death defying things....the blaster1 is much harder to ride this way.

This is why i believe most freeriders don't ride B1s....Just can't handle it.:moon:

ill tell ya what, i give way more respect to guys who can rip on a stand up or a B1 like Jerry Jones, Eddie Bettencourt, hell even Pierre was a freak on a Blaster. i rode one for the first time in the surf in OZ....couldnt board it and right off the bat, lost the blaster and had to get towed in. but i did launch the hell out of it and was pretty nervous in the sky. im sure if i learned to side mount it wouldnt be bad at all but id like to try eddies in surf with the seat mod. his was a breeze to get on and took half the difficulty of re-starting out of the equation.

if you can flip or roll on a blaster huge in the surf...... your a freak. respect.

Who cares? Ride what you like - Blaster, SJ, SXR, or god forbid couch - and don't worry about what any yahoo on some forum thinks.

i said try haha

COOL!!!

I know you realize I’m simply messing with you, but I would really like to see you try one out, because knowing you, I think you would have some serious fun with it! Plus, I would like someone to video your first run too (no edits, and the camera must be running before the motor is, ha ha… heck, I’d rather be there for that :silly:)!!!

You guys are always talking about rolls or flips or just height alone, yet style and diversity is what speaks to me personally (besides just plain fun). Flips and rolls are getting more interesting again for sure now, but I like to see someone who can mix it up, to include skis. There are many things can look so very cool on a b1.

These pics of Eddie are rather old, but just saying (and Zack, his front exhaust seems to make a big deal too, in addition to the seat mod… I’d like to do both to mine). Someone earlier said something like, “how you ride, not what you ride”… I like that (and what Scottie just said), but expounding upon it, I like it when someone can ride all skis well and with flair, not limiting themselves to just one…that takes talent.

another rider who is great on a blaster is zimmy from virgina beach he rolls and backflips a blaster, at daytona i was wondering how many people in the world can backflip a blaster, i dont think there are to many, a blaster is a nice fun ski

The hull is very similar to the Superjet. It uses almost all the same engine and driveline parts as a SJ and it's lighter than an SXR. It's a very good freeride ski, that is ridden similarly to a stand up. it doesn't need to be ridden at higher speeds to get air off of a wave like most other sitdowns. That is why it's accepted here.

quit sugar coating

Yet the HX gets no love. sigh

thats because its a doo! local rider had one here with a lowered seat and built...freakin' FUN to rip around the bay and would definatly air out...but, still a seadoo and a couch...the worst combo

It's a couch. You can tell by the seat. Just a light one.

It gets acceptance because it has a much larger learning curve than a traditional couch. You are not a passive participant while riding it. It requires commitment.

It's still a couch though.

my man.

Is it still a couch if you take the seat off and absolutely refuse to have one on?

is a tranny still a dude if he hides his nuts between his legs?

yes.

Some of the best times I've had with my blaster was watching newbies try to ride it! I was surprised though when I got my SJ how much smaller the hull was than the blaster. I love them both, wouldn't get rid of either one. I do get bored with the B1 on flatwater, but it is awesome when the waves pick up a little.

Mike, having the skills to ride both well in the surf is where its at.each has its day.But in no way is a b1 harder to ride, any surf rider worth their salt should be able to rear or side mount it unless they are a heavy weight in this case side mount only,I find each to be equally difficult to roll, just dif tech...a b1 will make you pay a higher price if not done right. A b1 is much more easy to go big on,correctly landing it can be much more cush than a sj...ride what ya brung broda

By my count it seems most of the people doing it live in countries not called the united states. It's seems like the blaster just in general gets more love elsewhere. Crazy foreigners!

Scorn, why do you persist to be such a toolbag, even after a edit your post is still crap,I wouldnt say I rolled it if I hadnt already done it,plate to plate first try and I hardly ever ride the b1 at all.
