Sure you can, you build a bigger cylinder that has the proper proportions of transfer port area to displacement.

Well you can do that... but which cases are you planning to bolt them on to? Definitely not 62T cases. You can't add much transfer volume between the two cylinders because there is only a thin wall separating them. And like Romack said, you still need cooling ports in your cylinder.

Here's cases for an Able cylinder, they've pretty much maxed out the transfer volume, the porting actually cuts into the flywheel area (see where the epoxy shows through).

Do you have an able stroker with 61X cases?

I ran into this problem with my ADA billet cylinder. I wanted to build a huge displacement motor. Both, Paul (Jr. Magoo's) and Brooks at ADA said that there is a point of diminishing returns on boring (which enlarges and changes the dynamics of the transfer ports).

I spoke to Brooks at ADA about getting different sleeves from their sleeve supplier, but the supplier has a minimum order of 6 sleeves. He then went on to tell me that ADA was working on a new design billet cylinder:headbang:

This one is planned to take up to an 8mm stroke and 91mm bore (Seadoo pistons). I am sure that they have thought out the case requirements to run this bore and stroke and have it make power, otherwise they wouldn't get the Return On Investment. Supposedly the first prototypes are due next week.

This sport is going to be getting interesting this year.

Any plans to cast 7 port cylinders for a Kawi? I would think you could use the same sleeves.

Do you mean 8 port like a Lamey? I've never heard of anything like that, but someone said that Watcon plans to cast a WestCoast cylinder for the Kawi 750/800 with triple exhaust ports, soon.

Robertg, those cases came with the Able cylinder I ran last year, but I ran it with 62T cases for more power (I had them port matched the same way).

njfl, did they say they've tried it? If they're just making the prototypes, it sounds like they've never tried it.

Prototype may not be the best word. They are making the first round. From what I understand, they will be based on the old ADA billet cylinder that they offered last year on their website. This one is similar, so I think they are basing their expected performance on that one. This one will have a girdle, but not for keeping it from cracking, but rather to allow maximum available water passage area on the interior.

yes there is progress
it slowed down alot
i lost a mjor part of my bussiness as in a bussiness partner
so now its up to me to make the pattern myself and it very expensive

but its still go ahead at this point

ok update time
I am working with another company at the moment to get castings done
I have been waiting on some sleeves to turn up so i can send them off as well
Depending on what they come back with is wethier i go into full time production or not

I am just trying to raise the funds to pay for the pattern and thats killing me at the moment as well

Set up a PayPal donation fund, bitch.

I'm good for $20USD to the cause.
