We just heard back from the pattern maker and the price was about what we expected to make a patttern for the cylinders

So he got the go ahead to make the pattern

I am not sure on how long it will take
not to long i hope

The cylinder is being made to be able to take a massive bore and will be cast to handle a 10 mil stroke

Cool:headbang:

I'm just thinking out loud hear for a second
If it can take a 90mm piston with the 10 mm stroker crank it would give you a 992cc motor. :smileeek:

Throw in a nice set of billet cases and you'd have one heck of a motor.

Too bad I already blew my wad$ on my lamey's. 1000cc in a superjet would be very cool.

yeah the billet cases would be great

Paul has been very helpful in this project with answering all my questions regarding bore size to go to
but yes it will be able to be a monster motor

I want to make an engine for my ski that i am scared to ride
The cylinder is also being cast for pv,s

This sound funkin mental dude, reckon i could get an orange one :)

if you want to pay to get it anodized
can they anodize cast alloy
but yes if they do i would do it for you
we have been thinking about this

the same with the heads
whe were thinking about custom screen prininting if you want to pay the extra

Are you sure you can get cast alumium anodized? It can be done in a sense but from what I have learned reading into this, cast alumium has multiple kinds of metal mixed. Diffrent grades of alumium, could be iron, brass... ect. But the process involves charging the metel to a certian amount of amps and then holding at that for lets say you need 120minutes for a good thick take of the dye. That would be good for 6061 alum, but when you mix in all those other metals some might not take much/ any dye and others might burm causing white spots or chalk. I know that was a little lengthy but figured i'd share it with ya.

That would be SWEET!!
BUT...how are you going to get the air into the combustion chamber?
I believe Paul has mentioned that around the 88mm mark (on yamaha and Lamey cylinders) the physics don't allow enough air to fill the combustion chamber.
I'm wondering if you (wax) have some case ideas or something that will cure this issue?

there is a problem with trying to get alot of air and fuel in the cyl.
as per the size of the intake ports, any cyl.
Is there a possiblity to Direct inject enought to run
90+ mil piston and like 10+ mil Crank ? Just thinking, OUCH !:thinkerg:

yeah the cylinder will be able to machined down to std stroke
and when you order it we will do it for you
so you get the stroke you want

as far as big airflow on the cylinder
well the issue is the crank spacing you cant get the transfer big enough because they hit each other as the cylinders are to big

i havent got anything to fix this
when i can flow enough that a ported cylinder like this that has all the extra transfers in it is the limit
i will call it a day and say thats enough horsepower

Could you use a gp800 platform? I have not seen that motor in person but it is just an all around bigger motor that should alleviate some of those problems that are being brought up. Billit cases would be really expensive as is a lamey cylinder set up, I am just wondering what is most cost effective means of producing power. I think that motor only weighs like 10lbs more.

Any Idea on ETA? I'm wondering if I should put off my current build plans (aka save my money) for a Wax Cylinder?
Pm me if you want.
