Haha! Now c'mon, Gil told me you have realized how well singles run. Matter of fact, he said you were secretly talking to Art to come up with a good flowing state of the art 60mm bore carb specifically for big bore motors like this 1000cc monster!!! :bananajump:

Here's some duals for ya!

hmmm....
I'd love to go to a nice single carb when i rebuild my motor... i know it's tough to get a single setup just right for larger stoker motors, but if there's something out there, i'd like to investigate it.
60mm going to be as good as dual 44's or even modified larger duals?

i know there is a give and take when debating single vs dual.

right now i am running dual 44's (stock radier carbs) and have thought of something else for the current 5mil big bore

Not a specific question to this motor.... but in general how reliable are the cases after they are heavily modified to accept the +10....

I have always been curious...

thanks

Don, I'm running a single Novi 48 on my Lamey stroker, and it is nothing less than vicious!!!! :Banane09:

I really wasn't serious with my comment regarding a single 48 feeding this 1000. Even I don't think it would be sufficient for a motor that big. However, for 850ish on the cc's and below.....I'm personally all over the single 48!! That is my personal opinion based upon the motor in my boat. Nothing more, nothing less.

A ten is pretty far out there and you are releying on the epoxy to be the bottom of the case, as all the aluminum is cut out for the rod. A 12MM is even worse, the sides of the case are epoxied as well. All in a days work for someone looking for the big brap.

The cases are reliable, they don't flex as much as a trenched Banshee case. The only problem is a backfire can blow out the epoxy. We recently started adding a plate to the bottom of our trenched cases to help with this problem.

....course if you use a billet case you are able to go out to 16MM with ease, maybe even out to 20MM.

Unless a 38mm can go thru a 1 inch T6 aluminium plate then I don't think so...boss!!

I don't personally know of 38mm bullets, but the .50 BMG is 12.5mm and would destroy your 1mm T6 plate.
I am pretty confident a 38mm bullet will go through.

Are you talking about a 38 cal? That would be a 9mm.
A 38mm bullet would be about 1.5 inches in diameter.
