Wdk Rip Rebuild. New to me

I bought some molds from jeff at WDK.
One is the RokR the second is his fx1 pro.
I have been working on making a rokr for myself. I have a half dozen bottom decks in my back yard that for one reason or another I wouldnt use. I am not new to composite work
The wing is a 48' composite structure we built all of it in our small shop. Lots and lots of epoxy and carbon fiber. This is the second wing we built.

Afraz1er posted a WDK RIP for sale a mere 9 hrs away from me. After talking with him about the ski I sent a small deposit. He sent me like 6 million pictures of the ski, I knew exactly what I would be getting. Aaron was friggin awesome to deal with. Super nice guy, and made it work to meet me.

The plan was over labor day weekend to drive out there with our trailer and do a little camping . I work 4 -10s so I had a 4 day weekend. We were set to do it. Then my fiance got stuck on jury duty all week. She is an independent contractor and lost a bunch of income for that week. Saturday evening we decide just to take her truck and go.

Aaron met us at his house. Left his camping to come home and meet us. Stand up dude.

After a long drive home sunday I unload the ski and put it in the living room. Our house does not have a garage.

It will be getting a 155 pump, thrust trim and a yamaha based motor from WDK. A 927. I have collecting parts for a build for about a year now.

I started mock up of the pump and need to shim the back a little more than I had hoped for. Got to the midshaft and decided to send it to jetmaniac for a rebuild.

The ski came with a cold fusion ebox mount which is 2 short for the gp800. I cut the mount apart and will Tig it back together to fit the longer 800box.

My impression was he is more interested in building pro level freestyle skis.
But yes about 1 year ago I bought the molds and the plug

My pump to shoe alignment. If I lift the back of the pump up that much the driveshaft touches the hole in the hull. Should I just shim back the shoe?

Same as mine....lots of sealant and never a problem once I figured that out. (first ride out 9 years ago)

I also have another brand new seal and a used one that I sliced in half...I can't remember if I am running that or just sealant right now...

So just gobbledygook that gap???

Yep just good silicone and then wipe it clean and smooth inside the pump tunnel.

Kind of a pain to get off next time but no biggie...

I have seen this video. Thanks for posting again.
Pretty much how I was doing it, except I have that gap... maybe an 1/8" of an inch... I wont read into it too much. I just ordered a new shoe to pump seal I will install that before I make any changes

Looking for more yamaha style shims to have on hand should I need them.

Got the pump dialed in. I spaced the pump shoe back 2 washers thickness and used 520p to glue it in.

Silly question, being I run x2s and dont have steering cables... the rip came with a steering cable but no little connector at either end to attach to the nozzle or the steering plate.

What do I use and where do I get them???

Thanks for the kind words.

Subscribed.

I wanna see a ride video at the end of this build!

(Btw. Not sure if I told you, but I got the x2 parts.).

So it's all back as far as it can go...
Need about 1/4" more.
Can I just press the midshaft in that bit I need?

2 questions on my wdk pipe...
1- should it have a way to put water in it?????
2- on the shot of the inside of the pipe, does that need to be welded? Jeff said "no", but I'd like a 2nd opiniin from someone who has nothing on the line.
