so do you guys really ride more then 45 minutes straight?

I doubt I could ride 45 minutes straight in the surf but I certainly do on the lake. The other problem is...even if you don't ride 45 solid minutes, it may take 3-5 minutes to ride back so you can fill up, 3-5 minutes to fill up, and finally another 3-5 minutes back to where the action/your friends are. If you have to fill up twice in an hour or two, that's 20-30 minutes of doing nothing fun when your friends are only out for an hour or two. Worst case scenario is when a sweet boat is making waves specifically for you and friends and you have to bail because you're out of gas.

hmm, i can't do 20 minutes on my boat right now. if i rode 30 i think i'd just call it a day, but more power to you! i'd say still try it. as i was once told, you never know until you try :)

Started on my mats today.Made templates for both the rails and tray. You guys will stock SJ got it easy. You buy the kit and bam no cut,no measure, just peal and stick! lol The first pics shows the way the body comes in right above the rail on the front side of the tray.l asked for some advise on how to do,but decided to cut a template with the curves in it.lt will take some lining up to make it look right.

Template made, first pic.First layer 1/2 thick foam, then second layer with foot cutouts. And just an overhead shot.l had to do the footholds like that because they are very small.l could not get my feet in the holds with two layers and still put a little foam on the top.l still have to do the sides, but have to go down to the fabric shop for some pattern sheets.

And l have to wait for some warmer days to glue, cause l cant get my shop warmer than 60 degrees this weekend.

Man talk about an over designed bond rail. What a PITA that would be to turf. I've never done the peel and stick templates and have always had an easy time turfing the rails but that just seems annoying.

Yea,John l agree. What a pita.l noticed the picture of my rail template is fuzzy,so you can't see the curves. As long as l have it lined up when l stick it will be fine.Thought about stretching the turf, but it will distort it too much.

Small update.First pic is of my pole mounted and done.lf you will notice the end of the pole spring,it rests between the breather hose and screw. When l first put it together, the spring was pushed in to the hose.Took a torch to it and bent it straight.lt was made for a single hose setup.

When l was in daytona l ended up buying a new xmetal waterbox.l was torn as to use either it or the ATP box. (sorry steve) But the xmetal fit great and they put an angle in the bottom of to allow for a/m hulls and rocker.

Figured out that the WDK footholds do not allow enough room from the top to bottom for your foot to fit in (9.5 shoe) with turf and mat.l'm going to shave the top inside part of hold, shape and reglass to allow for more room. Then l can get my turfing done.

What's up with so many hull manufacturers... They put all their time and effort making the hull ride and look good and then slap some half @ssed footholds on it at the last minute. Stunt hull, ROK, and the first BOB have all had the worst footholds I've ever seen.

Cut the top out of the footholds tonite to allow for more room.l still need to grind some more on the edge that faces the tray.As you can see from the picture with my shoe with turf and pads,l opened it up quite a bit.l kept the top part (that was cut out) and will tack it up with some strips of glass till it drys. Then l can finish glassing it in.

Don't base your footholds on those shoes. You will be lucky if they last half a season. The jet pilot shoes are junk! The soles fall off.

l went ahead and placed the top section back on last night with some temp screws.lnstead of tacking it w/ glass.l just need to figure out how l can keep some foam in between the outside rail and the holds.Thinking maybe l can use some two part foam, enough to over fill and then grind into a foothold form, then glass over it.Anyone got input or opinions on this?

Just around the footholds.l just want enough to make forms.

And l keep thinking about putting foam, noodles or something in the ski.But l just can't make up my mind. This will be the first ski that l did not run foam.
