The GFS model also suggests that a budding system will be trekking across the open tropical Atlantic as the weekend progresses, eventually developing a closed circulation. Stay tuned on this one as it appears that it could take a path very similar to Bertha's smack in the middle of our ESE swell window.

what you done done now?

finally spun my shaft. When I installed it the splines were not very good and it ended up lasting longer than a year...

I decided to fix the nose, sand, fill holes, prime and paint it up while I'm waiting for a new wear ring pump section and new impeller. XMEtal is sending me new stuff so my will be looking good again. I'm also trying to mod this horrific WF hood I have to keep a little water out... I removed the two tubes that were in there and gonna replace them w/ longer ones...

the top will be yellow and the bottom black and white like before

post up some pics on your WF hood air tube mods,I just sunk mine again monday, pulled a re intry and bumped the nose on the Bar,ski was upside down bout 6 ft away from me still runnin for maybe 8 to 10 secs,as usual she was done when i flipped it back over,I think the x metal dual pole vents are 2 short also,it would be nice to lengthen them a bit also.

I hear the ridged vac hose at home depo is 2.5 inches and works nice?My shafts are spun in my other SJ,I was thinking bout getting some of those titanium ones that guy over seas is selling,be nice if we could do a group buy on the x and save on overall cost and shipping

If the ski is upside down for any period of time, it is gonna take on water, some may be worse than others. I have had this happen with a Wammer Hood as well.......

Just part of it.

Hey, Didnt Steve redo that hood for you?

he did redo it, but I would not call it a full rebuild.
the hoses were never touched... he essentially glued my
old liner onto my old shell.... whatever, I just want a working
hood that doesn't sink my ski.

shizzzz, when I had my old stocker hood on it,the ski was upside down #s of times for a good while till i could swim to it,roll over and start her up every time, these are not good surf hoods with the current venting,in less than 10secs the hull is over half full of water and almost ready to sink, there isnt much room inside the hood to sink the vents or X them over either

Idok posting under butti:

I have been giving this a lot of thought latetly.....I think that installing an outerwear on the hood breather tube on the INSIDE of the hood would really help this issue..

cause the stocker cracked to pieces

its worth a shot on the outer wears, wonder how much volume of air they would stop? and how much water pressure they could hold back? ever try filling a outerwear with water?
