This is got to be one of the few places where you can be excited that a hurricane is coming. Sounds like Bertha is going to make a lot of men happy this week:Banane09:

That is all I can think about.........................
the destruction...........

Hell, that same hurricane cost me a new roof on a house we had only lived in 2 weeks, and a roof on the shop at my old house that we still owned at the time.....

There is a BIG difference between a cat 3-5 storm and a cat 1-2. I'm hoping for a coast skirter and back out to sea. I had over $100K in damage after hurricane Charley only to have Francis a week later and then another right after that. That isn’t even counting the number of trees I had to remove. I don't wish for any damage to anyone’s property, but sure would like to get some solid groundswell.

Emm, quick, jump in the boat and head for safety......... oh wait, your already doing that soon!!!!!!!1

yeah...except we made our last trip to the "secret spot" yesterday...no more surf riding for the Davis Clan :sadwavey:

if you guys do get some good waves take lots of pictures!!!!!!!! :cheer2:

Butti, That tiny ground swell is not from Bertha, it's from the lows we have had out there for the last week or so...

The reports I have seen are not very promising for Bertha (surf station). If we don't get a bunch of wind sheer and the speed of the storm continues to keep up there is hope. Forecasts have it at 2.5ft so don't expect 6ft or anything epic. It will feel good to get something though...
