We weighed seven skis last week

I borrowed a 400lb shipping scale from a friend last night. We weighed seven of our skis last Thursday night.

My ski: Wamilton's hull, no foam, AC pole, WDK Razor Hood, DASA billet big bore stroker, other stuff: 321 lbs

Scott's ski: Lenzi hull, XFT hood and handle pole, Lamey small bore: 326lbs

Christin's ski: stock hull, WDK hood, 5mm stroker, 61x 84mm cylinder, AC pole: 313.5 lbs

Kat's ski: stock 1990 SN with aluminum pole: 318.9

Hoang: WDK Rev top deck + hood, 94 SN bottom, 785cc flat top big bore, WDK billet pole: 308.2 lbs

Sipo: Stock 1990 SN with Coffman pipe and aluminum pole: 318.2

Kevin - BONE STOCK 2008 RN (well, it has a Wet Wolf cone, Riva intake grate, and skat impeller) has been wet like 2 times: 324.8 lbs

I would give any of these about a 6 lb error possibility. We weighted them with gas and then estimate the amount of gas in each tank and used 6.2lbs per gallon of gas (found that number on the internet). I could have been off my a gallon on any of the estimates.

good info.
these are all 20 - 30 lbs heavier than i thought they'd be. when was the last time the scale was calibrated?

Me too. as far as my ski goes the Lamey billet cylinder is definitely heavier than a stock cylinder, and the Wamilton's fiberglass is THICK.

If I had to guess previous to this based on riding them I would have said Scott's was the lightest (by like 20 lbs), then mine, then Christin's. I haven't ridden Hoang's enough to judge and the two SN's feel like 400lbs each to me.

Funny that an old stock SN was lighter than a new stock RN though.

Weighed my '04 sj at the scrap metal buy-back place. 547 lbs.

But then I got off.......347

Got rid of 20 lbs of water during foothold install....327

I could buy a bunch of lightweight parts....But you've just stopped me. I think I could stand to lose 20 lbs myself! Lighter ski!

From memory the billet lamey was either 2 lbs or 5lbs heavier than a cast cylinder.

I could throw them on a scale to be sure tomorrow if you want me to.

This is a great thread to post all of the ski weights.

My stock non reinforced foamless RN weighed in at 324 with tool kit WCF hood and nose piece, Aluminum pole, ADA cylinders, Standard battery and a fully jacketed B pipe.

Seems to be right in line with the rest of the skis

That is real interesting, It sure makes me feel better about building a stock RN Hull now lol You didn't have enough scale capacity to throw a SXR on there huh.

I don't feel so bad now. When I get some fresh foam in mine it's gonna be like a lightweight compared to your guy's skis! Until then it's right up there with the rest of them......

95 SN 701, stock apart from B/pipe, minimal gas: 344lb- (later found to be slightly waterlogged with 10lb sheetmetal tray reinforcement)
WDK x-jet (wet laid) 6mm stroker/b-pipe, no gas 310lb

On calibrated scales.

Would have thought that the Lenzi ski (first post) would have been lighter?

Ouch! I was really expecting all those ski's with aftermarket hulls to be under 300lbs. Of course with 4 of those ski's having nice big budget engines, I bet they still feel light.

When we weighed it last year, with a stockish stroker motor it was 292lbs RTR. It does not feel any heavier than it did, but I suspect it has slowly become waterlogged. I get a little steady drip when I pull the rideplate to switch impellers.

Weighed mine when it was finished here at work, it was 286lbs OEM hull, 828 T/S stroker. Using only Dow foam in bottom half. This was without a Battery, or Gas. I haven't wieghed it RTR, but I am running a small Deka battery, it's right at 6lbs so, add that plus gas.
