I don't have a picture, but the first year I went to daytona with my X2, I kept having water ingestion. I had a K&N style arrestor that came on my X2. @tom21 helped me cut up a 2L mountain dew bottle and with a propane torch, he heat shrunk it around to cover 3 sides leaving only the motor side open. Stayed in place with zip ties.

It actually worked really well and got me through the weekend. After that, Tom got a stock superjet single 44 airbox for me.

Thats an old school freestyle trick, think Keith Head and a few others had similar setups........ Think Keith's was using old Milk Jugs. It worked.

Milk jugs are for torque. Mountain dew bottles give the ponies. Not as much as a ProTec sticker does though. The science checks out.

That would be pretty awesome, but would need to add much larger casters and build the stand up high enough where it would be hitch hauler height but also nice for working height

I was thinking about building a better quality and larger 3D printer. I have a 24x36 KL series router. The Z-axis is only 4" and would be a bit less with a glass bed on it, but I was thinking, this is an amazing base for a large format 3d printer. It wouldn't be very hard for me to swap out the router head for a printer head. Anyone familiar with this process as I start my research? I imagine it would be pretty simple since everything is in place except an extruder and a server to push the plastic.

It's a core XY on linear rails. Super rigid frame, great extruder, extremely stable with super fast print speeds.

You all know damn well that if I had a clean slate, my first thought would be to start building it all again.

Just fooling around with testing a coil, couldn't get my probes to reach into the plug caps so I made a set of plug tip test probes. I removed the threaded tip from two plugs, drilled the center hole out to size of the clips only about 1/4" deep, trimmed the clips and soldered in place. I finished them with a piece of 1/8" green primer line which helps the probes stay locked in place for hands free testing and the thread on plug caps can be removed for testing both styles of plug cap. They worked quite well actually

Mill converted to 3D printer... It looks like his spindle is still in place so it's still a mill when it's not a printer.

3d printer add on for plasma table (this would probably be similar for my router, but I know you want a plasma table).

Maybe there are some good options for us to just add extruders to our existing machines that are greatly superior in quality to all of the 3D printers on the market. There are also options for laser engravers and ETC we could add too.

It’s just time and money. The options are literally unlimited.

I’m been bringing home so much scrap aluminum from our current project that I’ve been tackling projects just to use it up.

Today I welded up a set of cable stands for the guys to test out this week. Made out of 3/8” thick 2” aluminum angle, they weigh 4.6lbs each. Time will tell if they are strong enough to support a 56” reel of cable at 500lbs.

Here’s the general idea of how they are used.

To the untrained eye, this would look like part of an ongoing effort to restore my toy hauler to better than original condition, but you guys know me better, and thus realize this is part of my life’s work to convince @OCD Solutions that he needs a 3D printer.

You would have a much better argument if you were at least building items that were not readily available for cheap using materials suitable for the application.
