#1. A "special" rideplate has a thousand and one uses. :wavey::jester:

I was thinking of starting a thread...with photos. I might be accused of starting drama - so I'll get someone else to do it. Hmmmmmmm, QuickMick is good with a camera....

were you one of the guys trying to sell me that ride plate for 6 bucks? out with pete late sunday night?

Boris, SFL and I were out there along with some guy that does not read this site (do those type of people even really exist? )

wasn't it $4 + $19.99 shipping/handling?

1. The coral beach motel is really nice and incredibly cheap for what you get. I got a nice beachfront room for $130 total for 2 nights.

2. Total loss can be very reliable if you're very anal about the installation. I didn't have any electrical problems this year.

3. You can bring more tools that than you can lift but you'll still leave the one you need at home.

4. If you want to ride more than just the weekend, come early. 10AM on Monday, there wasn't a sole was on the beach.

5. Last but not least...doesn't matter how good of shape you're in or how long you can ride normally, if you haven't ridden in the ocean before you'll be toast in 20 minutes flat the very first time out.

i ride surf all year, but three days in a row will make you sore as hell. i can't make it up or down stairs very well and I am walking with a limp. Probably shouldn't have attempted rolls off every wave i saw after I landed my first one. The adrenaline let me keep going while riding but I am paying for it now. Probably doesn't help that i rode a full tank just about straight through on sunday. Think i took a 10 minute break in between.

Man, am I glad you wrote this.
By Saturday night, I was so friggin' sore, and I thought I was the only one, so I'm walking around trying to act like I'm not sore, and I can barely get into a chair, out of a chair, etc etc. This morning was the first time I finally felt semi-recovered.
I looked like a cripple, and the weekend was only half over.

I talked to a few people that were the same way...as well as myself. After 2-3 hours in the car, I know I felt like a freaking retard gimping my ass to the bathroom. I'm still hobbling around a little today but going up and down stairs is physically possible today without the aid of handrails.

i slept the early part of the ride home sunday night and woke up about 1230 am with the worst charlie horse and my calf locked up solid. the other guys in the car thought it was funny. been stretching a couple times a day since yesterday morning when i got home and its not helping much. I stretched before and after riding all three days i was down there too. i had 17 1/2 hours in the car to let the muscles lock up.

The Makai comped one of our nights due to the glass door would not open. We had to actually lift the door and move it. Only ended paying for 2 nights between 4 people. 35.00 each WOW

Or you can bring tools and everyone uses them, luckly they were all brought back.

20 minutes.. Try 10... I know better to stay out there when im assdraggingtired. Sunday I did burn 8 gallons of fuel. On tank (3 gallons) in one ride.
I will sift though my helmet footage for some good shots. It was awesome being out there watching backies up close.

Lesson learned

Trailer maintenance is just important as ski maintenance. Thank the chinese for a walmart every 2 miles in this country. ( No spare 1500 mi round trip )
