What Is going on? look at my plugs please.

I am trying to figure out what is going on with my motor. I have not been able to get it right yet. Its a 6 mil stroker running 46 blackjacks my compression tester reads 170 on the front cylinder, and 180 on the back. The black plug is the back cylinder.

one looks like its getting too much and one looks like its getting nothing, does the motor start and idle rough and as soon as you give it gas it dies or starts to run super bad like fire off one cylinder?

I dont see any signs of water ingestion. Is the plug tip on the clean threaded plug moist after running or bone dry and black, cuz in that case that cylinder is running very lean. Have you gone through your carb internals and adjustment settings to make sure everything is the same and at the correct settings? Do you have a leaking needle and seat? Is the cylinder with the cleaner of the two plugs firing at all times? have you checked the spark on both cylinders? You may have clogged jet. Also is there any signs of an air leak around the dry plug cylinder?

I started the motor with only the front plug wire on, and the other way around.

It just started running like crap after running about 85% throttle for about 20 seconds.

The carbs were recently gone through and setup by jetworks. Maybe Its another Ignition problem

yeah yyour one plug looks like its not been touched and the other one has been dumped on.i would check to make sure you are getting and good spark in both wires and see if you smell fuel on the one thats clean. haha just start the process of elimination

Have you checked for a strong spark on both plug wires? Also trim the coil wires back a bit to make sure your making good contact with the wire and the boot. I would say you could be having CDI problems if replacing coil wires or coil doesnt solve it. Cuz you say the carbs were just gone through completely.

im running a total loss ignition just replaced the plug wires and a coil. becaus e of a no spark issue on the forward cylinder. symptoms are the same I just dont see how it is possible

Switch the channels - pickup wires and the coil wires and see if it follows the problem to the other cylinder. If it does then you need to find out if it is a problem with the pick up or the wiring from the pick up to the ignition unit.

Is this an old analog MSD-TL single channel?

Thats what I was thinking. I was using my 'brown' and 'yellow' channel and randomly losing fire on #1-yellow was channel 1 and I put the orange channel in place of the yellow channel. Using a single carb-I knew fo sho it was an ignition issue not a carb issue. My plugs were not as bad as this guys-but a very noticeable diff and ran like azz at times.

Chuckie.. i believe he is running the digital setup
Phil lives near me
i don't have any experience with total loss, but haven't seen his ski either

i'd think the carbs and reeds would be setup correctly since Art had the whole package (i believe, Phil can confirm that)
