what is the best motor mount

I have had good luck with new OEM mounts, combined with keepers. Old one break easily.

So what is the deal with the GP mounts? Do you have to modify they at all? I know they are bigger=better in my book. And your keepers fit ok with them.

yep gp mounts are fatter and the keepers fit around them (at least in my case). I just bolted them in, no mods.

no pics. they are the same height and angle. the rubber section is fatter.

what do you mean cut 2 mil on the base? the k keepers wouldnt work with them in your boat?
Ill order 4 gp mounts if they will for sure work,monkey grips suck just as bad as any other mount,I just poped 2 of them in no longer a time period than any other mount.I also remember them transfering more motor vibration than any other mount id tried
Any one out there using any other discount source for oem gp mounts?

the keepers need to be notched, but other than that they fit fine...

wavedemon told me about them and they fit right up! Ill post up a pic of a the keeper GP mod

I guess I need to go look at what mount is in my ski. they're so new the sticker is still on them.

the monkey grips must be named appropriately for the way your hands feel after riding them,after all the transferred vibration through the grips to your hands.I hated them until they broke in 3 months later.
post them gp mount pics up bud,Im a little hesitant at this point,one moded the mounts,one moded the keepers and another says they fit without mods? whats the likly hood they are all the same mount?

Ive had good luck with OEM in the past and have been currently been running the Monkey grips for a couple years with no probs.
I have also heard that the Wammer ones are Monkey grips.

I have lots of these mounts. I think that the rubber might be softer than sj mounts. Try to move them with your hand and then try a sj mount. Also, I think the alignment height may be a little different. Has anyone else notices this?

I figured out what I using this time.

the sticker on the mount says:
37-400
500/650/701
800/1200

it's sold by SBT. it's beefier than the superjet mount but fits the keepers with no mods.

yes, I've noticed both things on some gp mounts. softer and may need an extra shim. if you ask me softer is better.
