What plug to use?

I think stock is B7HS or something...should I use BR7ES or B7ES or....?

ES. The rest is personal preference. I run BPR8ES

I would go with the NGK B8ES or BR8ES on an ADA Head.

R means resistor
8 is the heat range
HS = Half-Shaft plug (like for stock head)
ES = Extended-Shaft (like for an ADA head)

Other way around. 8 is colder than a 7. You don't want to be running 7's all the time. I usually use 7's if I sink the ski and can't get it to restart. That's when the fun begins for the next half hour. :biggrin:

If you're going to use resistor plugs try and find the solid tips BR8ES-S

I've seen this myth posted before. The heat range of the spark plug has NO effect on starting. It only relates to how quickly the plug dissipates heat while running. The only help starting a sunken ski would be the use of a clean DRY plug.:biggthumpup:

I didn't see anyone point out that the HS tip will not even stick out through the thickness of the ADA head. It will still run, but you'll get better performance with the ES because the tip is in the combustion chamber.

I also agree with crammit442 that the heat range has no impact on starting.

Yes, much brighter spark (Higher voltage, so more energy). Is just makes it a bit easier to start after water ingestion.

MSD stand for Multiple Spark Discharge and it's a design that fires the spark plug multiple times every time the unit is triggered. The number of times it will spark for each trigger is also rpm related.

I saw on ADA's website they say to use a BR9ES plug, would this be a bad one to run or should I just stick with the 8's? I ask becuase I have a whole box of 9's for my old sled.
