Freestyle What prop to spin in a 148MM set-back pump? 701 B-Pipe and 35cc ADA head.

I am slowly but surely building up my platform to go into an AM hull this winter. I currently have a 701, non-ported, B-piped with ADA 35cc domes.

What prop pitch would be ideal for me to spin in a 148 set-back pump for freestyle?

It will need to be small.. I ran a 10-16 in a ported 850. I believe Jetmaniac ran a 8-16 in his 148 pump with one of our BB 781 motors. Both motors were in carbon Superfreaks. May need to have a custom pitch until you get a bigger motor. Maybe 6-16 if there is such a pitch. Hope this helps..

148mm is a big pump and a big prop for a small bore engine... go with a really low pitch prop.

Kinda what I was thinking. I mean you're ahead of the game for when you get a big motor later, but i'm not its the right size pump for a 701.

I'm assuming its a Stock SJ hull? Having a lighter hull will make a difference.

The goal is to pick up a carbon AM hull this winter to drop everything into. The RN hull is sold and gone, and at this point... I'm boatless.

We've had good luck with a 7/12 on some of the smaller motors in a 148 pump. You might need to go even lower then that without any port work or compression.
