Hi guys, after many thoughts for or against I'm now posting a thread to find out where I'm at.In september 2013 im in contact with Steve Ortega from Trendsetterz, because I've sold my BOB and i wanna buy a backie chan, everyone seems to like them and Steve are very active on this board and very honest.13 september i send 2000usd as a deposit, and later 28 september i think, the rest 3500usd for a normal carbon kevlar hull. We agree that i can upgrade to visual carbon and custom paint for 1000usd later when my hull is about to laid up. Steve tells me that i can expect my hull to be made around oct/nov 13, when they are back from world finals.i october i talk on the phone with Steve, and he ask me if i want the new bottom deck he is designing, it should be more flat water freestyle than the chan. I use a day or two to think about it, and say yes thanks.he has to make new bottom molds of this new bottom deck so it will drag out a month further maybe. Later i see on this forum, that a member has tried this new bottom deck with Steve, and Steve says that it gets a new top deck (so a new model, the phantom) Okai cool enough. Im really eager at this point to get my new hull or at least an idea on when its done. Steve tells me that the molds are being very soon. Im having a hard time getting a hold of Steve, and maybe thats just the way he is but its a bit frustrating. So in late november i have only seen some pictures of the plug he's making, and no molds I'm asking Steve if its better to reverse the deal because i don't wanna risk having no hull in the spring 2014 and not get time on the water, the summer is short at narrow in Demark. So i will have the best of it on the water.Steve will no do this, but says he can have the phantom ready to ship by end december 2013 or else he will give me my money back.Late december, no hull or molds i talk with Steve over the phone and he says jan 2014 it will deff be ready. Now, still no hull i write to Steve and ask if its not for the best for both parties to reverse the deal, because this is looking less and less possible to happen. Steve will not do this, and now he won't answer my messages, last message i received from him is 27jan.I asked him if he hasn't got interest in setting this straight and why he is now answering. He gets and reads my message on Facebook. but no answer. What would you do?

I'll admit I was impatient as hell during the wait, but he will come through. It's a hard thing to do, waiting. When you get your hull it will be worth the wait. You'd probably rather have it done right instead of fast. I know I prefer it that way.

No i dont need to hear hes voice, but when the delivery dates has been postponed 3 times and it seems like empty promises. It's hard to be positive, and what does it take to write an answer in 2 Lines. 20 seconds. If he is so busy, buildikg my Hull, that he Can not answer me. I would have had my hull by december. Thats whats botherS me! No hull, no answer.

when hull builders build the hull first, then put it up for sale ready to go. that will mean no deposit/partial payment and then time to gather up the rest of the money. not so good for the broke dick dog that cant come up with the total wad of cash. less drama for the builder, not having to explain his every move on a daily basis.

come on turbo, its not like he stole his money and told him to pound sand. he'll get his hull and just as fast as any other builder and for a bunch less money. we all know you like to jerk steves chain when ever possible.

To put it into perspective, I ordered a hull from Tem at Superfreak in early January. He's been very adamant that my hull is going to be the guinea pig for some new stuff he is doing, and that he doesn't have all the answers yet, and is still working out the kinks. But! He has picked up every call Ive placed and wrote back every message I've sent him in the last month, which has been many of both and has been as helpful as always to update me on exactly where he is at. I understand these guys are busy, its the nature of what they do. But I also understand from the business I am in that the client is deserving of every once of information that you have, and when they want an update, you as the service or product provider own them the responsibly to get back to them with at least a "still working on it!"

You are in no way obligated to continue forth with this if you are unhappy. I personally would have had out weeks ago if the contact was that poor. But also know that it could very well be only a short time before you get your hull. Your call either way, you can't go wrong.

Well, one thing has been proven many times in the last couple years and that is that the number one way to pretty much guarantee you never see your item is to come on here and start stirring things up. This is truly one of those scenarios where patience and understanding will get you a lot further in the end. Chit happens and it's hard to come up with new reasons or keep repeating oneself every couple days. To my knowledge, Steve hasn't screwed anyone yet so I have no reason to believe he is going to start now.

hey, tem is an extremely nice guy that obviously goes above and beyond for his customers. he is the exception, not the rule. i'm sure if we heard steves side of this story, things may not match up exactly.
