Custom/Hybrid What to do? Steve @ Trendsetterz....

Well, one thing has been proven many times in the last couple years and that is that the number one way to pretty much guarantee you never see your item is to come on here and start stirring things up. This is truly one of those scenarios where patience and understanding will get you a lot further in the end. Chit happens and it's hard to come up with new reasons or keep repeating oneself every couple days. To my knowledge, Steve hasn't screwed anyone yet so I have no reason to believe he is going to start now.

To me this is an absurd mentality that it seems a lot of people on this site have. Keep it hush hush so you don't offend the builder and you'll get your hull, or warranty if something goes wrong. I can't think of any other business that operates this way and that customers have this mentality in.

I agree but it doesn't make it any less true.

Personally I would see it for the opportunity it is and leverage the delay to my benefit.

I personal would apologie to Steve ask nicely for a bad a$$ paint job for your troubles then pout your whole experience with Steve after receiving what you paid for. Really the only way to do it

I was talking as a buyer. I've had things go wrong before and deadlines get blown, I've always kept a cool head and figured out a way for it work in my favor. I may have waited a bit longer but I usually get way more value in the end.

For example, I was having an engine replaced on one of my trucks and my mechanic had a lucrative opportunity pop up that would bump my job for at least 3 weeks. I had another vehicle to drive at the time so I said to go ahead. In return for my patience, my regular 350 rebuild was turned into a balanced and blueprinted LT1. It ended up only being 2 weeks late as well.

I guess my point is this, life is full of choices. You can choose to get hung up on the negatives or you can stay positive and use that energy to turn any situation to your favor. I'm always looking for more out of every situation and anytime something goes wrong I see it as a chance to negotiate to a better situation.

I didn't get where I'm at today because of my looks. :)

Can you explain this comment? I take it as you are saying that if a customer complains about non delivery you would continue the non delivery. Did I read it right?
It's an opinion that he wrote on a forum about the situation. Why do people try to make stuff it's not and cause so much drama?

Ahh. That had yet to be my experience, glad its worked out for you.

My father says I am the king of silver linings. Unlike anything he has ever seen. Regardless of what life has thrown at me, I always land on my feet running.

Just gotta keep an open mind and look for all the angles.

P. S. I was patient for an extra 4 months with my first Matrix. Negotiations were made and I walked away more than satisfied and am still good friends with Bobby to this day.

Well I'm not trying to stir anything up. Im just frustrated. I haven't said anything bad about anyone, have i? Ive told my "story" and situation, and if this can not come out in the daylight, somethings wrong.Yes i feel "overlooked" when i paid the man in full to build my hull and got 2 deadlines that has been postponed. Maybe Steves been working on bikes, more than jet skis ( http://www.x-h2o.com/index.php?threads/the-last-chan.143784/#post-1553010 ) IDK, but if thats the case, i would like know this instead of empty promises.I asked Steve to reverse the deal, which he told me he would, if the phantom was not ready på dec 13. But now he won't do this, what should i make of this?

There have been a lot of us that have been in your shoes, myself included. I always knew my hull was coming I was just never sure when. The lack of communication was worse than the waiting at times but I always kept an open mind which really kept channels open between me and Bobby. I couldn't always get a hold of him when I wanted but when we did speak finally, I got way more information about the process than I ever imagined. For instance, most don't realize how much the weather plays a part in all this. These smaller shops can't afford to have fully controlled environments so outdoor temps and humity play a big role. There's a lot of other variables involved as well that will affect the smaller shops much worse than the big boys.

I know it's frustrating but resist the urge to jump on the negative bandwagon. I assure you, no good will come of it.

Just he paitent. He's no different than 90% of the business's in North America. Nothing goes on time anymore. For example my company is an international oil manufacturing facility witch ships all over the world. Is two monthes late before it even starts a job. We have a 82% percent shipped late rate. Around here money talks. pay triple to have it shipped next week..... Sure we will bump everyone else back. Just be paitent and don't hound every day. You'll get it and you'll be happy.

^Yup, RCW had our hulls done exactly when they said they would be.

Agreed here as well. Round 2 with Josh and Brian now. 100% full communication. High quality product and ON time every time.

Part of quality is being continually innovating and listening to your customers... Check out TQM, Edward Deming etc. My new hull has just about every change made to it that I suggested after a summer on my original brawler. I'm very excited to receive my new hull to say the least.

Good luck with your hull

Op I understand your frustration and honestly in the world of jetskis very few things are ever on time unfortunately.... But waiting patiently for a big purchase I know isn't easy. My Hurricane was the first production one built and was a few months behind schedule but anytime I had a question DK or Jr would call me or text me back immediately:) I also know the same thing goes with Tem. Ski Clinic and Superfreak Skis= great builders!

I can't say anything as far as Steve goes but have spoke with him a few times on the phone and seems like a nice guy. Give him a chance and be patient......good things come to those who wait:)

I paid for a glass Phantom a month before you (10/6/13) and have not even contacted TrendSetters since then. Its not like I'm going to be riding in 40 degree water. Come Mid March I might have to follow up. I've been seeing progress pictures via instragram so I'm not worried at all as it's in process. Developing a quality hull takes time.

No guys like me are realistic. We sit in the hot tub and watch all the window lickers flop around in pool. It's great entertainment.

Can't wait to have my new hull in 3 weeks. It might even be done early.

If you haven't noticed, the hull builders that know what they're doing have deadlines and actually know how to make them.

You spew false information like it's facts, just really annoying to listen to. You seem to be a very hateful person.
