What truck?

Threads like this make me laugh. However, I know the ins and outs of the car business. I see what cars are piles of poo, and I see what lasts. Everyone on the internet will tell you to buy a Tacoma, because they are like cars that look like trucks and are reliable. Sure, a Camry is reliable, but it doesn’t tow any thing either. Every one also said the ford 7.3 diesel was the best engine ever made... a old farm tractor doesn’t ever break down either, because it doesn’t make any power. I’ve seen Toyota’s with 100k that need a motor, and I’ve seen heavy duty gas burner trucks with over 700k miles on original drivetrains. It’s all about the maint and how you take care of one. Sure, some things will happen.... but they are man made.

You should be able to find a very solid truck for your budget, don’t rush and be patient. Find someone who knows how to buy a vehicle and let them assist you.

Just like everyone has a opinion on skis and what is better ect, there are a few on here that make a living through skis. Those are the people you should be listening to, not the keyboard junkies. (Most of the time). And everyone has their own opinion on trucks. One day Chevrolet will figure out how to put a straight axle under a heavy duty truck.

My favorite days at work are when the people that say “I’ve haven’t owned a ford in 20 years from a Bad experience in the 80s or 90s” and then they are absolutely blown away by the quality, drive, and capability of a f series pickup truck. I deal with complaints and comparisons all day long, day in and day out. Most people have a bad experience that isn’t covered under warranty do to misuse, or improper maint. I’ve also seen ALOT of repairs made, that are obviously not a warranty concern, but Ford will warranty it anyway. I’ve helped people get vehicles bought back, I’ve betted people cash money out of my pocket that if they go hook a ford truck up to whatever they are towing, it would beat its competitors. I just love everything about ford vehicles, in and out. Especially trucks.

I’m biased to Ford because that’s my business, but I choose to be a Ford franchise because I believe in the product.

For anyone else on the board here, I can buy any one of your vehicles wholesale via a buyer (i have prob 10 full time costantly buying inventory) or via auction. A lot of time auction vehicles are lease turn in, or vehicle repos ect. And I can prob save you ALOT of money, or get you more vehicle than you thought for your money. Most people think auctions are for junk vehicles... but there are lanes people can’t even get in unless you are a franchise dealer. Long story short.... I love a ford product, and if I can’t talk you into a ford... I also love money and I can help get you anything your little heart desires. What happens most of the time, is I get on a wild goose chase for a vehicle for someone who is “ready to buy immediately” meet all the criteria, beat a price, overcome any objection and the a excuse pops up like “oh I have to talk my wife into first” or they just don’t show up to a appointment. If you are ready to buy, or are seriously thinking about a vehicle I’ll be happy to assist. Also, the best deals are unpredictable. If I know you are in the market, I keep my eyes out. No telling what I’ll trade in, or someone stops by my store just wanting to sell something. If you put me on the hunt, be ready.

I don’t care what part of the country you are in, I can ship them right to your door step. I also help with any issues or concerns you may have after, and people on here can vouch for that as well. I’ve helped many people on the forum here already if you want any references. :)

Rant over! Braap on!! I’m gonna tag @x2Ufoolz right here so he can rant too. Haha!

I had said I would never buy a Ford.................. I made the mistake of stopping by PegLeg Ford. Big Mistake......... The next weekend we were looking at every truck on the lot. Were not finding what I wanted when Pegleg said "Wait, we have a truck in the back that we just got in, not even been cleaned yet. " Walked around the side of the building and Bam. I was sold.............

Awesome Rant @Captain PegLeg !!! Wish I lived closer. I'd come see you for my next Ford.

you missed the part where he said he can get it to you!!!!!! Seriously, Give ROBBY a chance if your looking, He has trucks from Florida to Virginia, maybe even farther north and west that he has sold to riders.

As far as ski riders in this forum I think have vehicles in 6 different states.... The lightning Tribute trucks I built are all over the country, from Washington state, to Florida, to New York. People get super crappy service from their local dealer, and that’s my wheel house is customer service.

If I can’t make it the best buying experience you have ever had, then I let myself down.

I own a Silverado as well and I’m always having to do some type of repair. My Tacoma, never. I respect your opinion about them being ugly but you know what they say about opinions.

Who owned the truck before you?
What repairs are you making?
Do you drive the Silverado more than the Tacoma?
Do you baby the Toyota and beat on the Chevy?

keep drinking the Kool-Aid, underneath every Toyota and Honda lover is the guy who hates his dad.

If you want a half ton gasser with tons of power check out the Chevy/GM Sierra 1500 with the 6.2L

I wish I could transplant a 6.0 in my Silverado. But I think it would be more cost effective to mod the 5.3. I do know I will have to beef up the transmission eventually.

I do like my Taco and know it's not a hoss but for my use it works.Business wise my first van was a older Ford Aerostar.I ran that van 5 years without issues. When l bought it,she already had 100,000 miles.l put another 125,000 miles and never once did it let me down.I'm on my 3rd Astro van (4.3) and sad to say l won't be able to find another one.The other ones had close to 200,000 miles when l sold them. This 03' I'm driving now has 145,000.
May need to talk to you Capt. about the baby Ford vans.Just not sure about the space inside will work for what l need. We'll talk over the next few months and figure out something.
