We were just exchanging stories like this Sat night with a few riders from across the USA.

Riding Malones boat in 05 was insane for me, way too much power for my skill set back then. It got me addicted to riding and meeting cool people that ride.

Riding Daytonas crazy huge slop surf in I think 2009 or 2010? Sat morning. A few skis had already went down and I was nervous to go out, but had a blast. I can still hear Taylors voice in my head, after picking him up on the beach with Eric. "Dont go out there, i've ridden everywhere, and that is crazy out there!"

My first Roll on an SXR off a boat wake

Riding with the Crew here when the swell is way up and the water is over all the docks, im gonna die, im gonna die, oh wait thats a perfect wave to roll off of. LOL Looking over and seeing Frosty do his first huge Back Flip, riding with Zeon in VA doing his first BF one handed, seeing Skinner do his first BR last month. Watching Josh do a Huge bf this year one hand one foot with his new q8

Getting lost in the middle of the lake on a sit down with a whole crew including my wife, in Thick Thick fog and thinking crap ive been at 50mph for an hour, no land, and im almost of of gas.

Riding with shawn_NJ in the ocean. That was the greatest day ever. My first and only ocean ride. He also let me try his Rickter which was insane..... I dont think I will ever be able to beat that day.

Yesterday we had two wake-board boats and were jumping v-wakes. That was a blast, I was afraid of breaking something the whole time however....
I had no idea how much a v-wake will launch you

I am assuming it was lake columbia, the water stays crystal clear and high 70's all winter. There is also really good fishing in that lake.

Riding into the sunset at Pismo: One of those rare occasions where it was glassy and NO wind. Riding sets with the sun in the Horizon was a great feeling...
Freeride at Pismo: Can't remember which one but it was a VERY humbling experience, 12+ footers. The adrenaline rush was like nothing ever experienced.

What's interesting is how I remember some great/hairy/extreme surf days but they didn't really stick out like some of the others. Everyone's perspective is different.

benny you reminded me of a similar ride in pismo. it was dusk with maybe 10 min of light left and JFB runs up and says "put your vest on bitch were gonna have some fun. the waves are killeeerrrr" so trunks it was. we rode in the dark for a long time and people started to park and shine their headlights so we could see. even the ranger was cool with it and turned his off road lights on for us. we just rode the inside and had so much frekin fun.

I realize you guys are all in a different league than we are here. No ocean or surf in North Idaho, and I'm not a world traveler. What we do have is Hells Canyon on the Snake River. Riding the white water is a total adrenaline rush, but having to dodge the big jet boats makes it a little scary sometimes. They can't always see such a small target in the white water.

I need to get out more!

Matt, amazing pic. That just looks like an amazing place to be, much less ride.

The coolest ride I ever had was actually on flat water (gasp!). Same old ride back to the dock we always do, but this day the water was COMPLETE glass and the clouds above me in the light of the sunset were amazing (we get some amazing sunsets- orange and purple... all the best pollution has to offer). So I was seeing these amazing clouds in the mirror-like water below me as well as in the sky above me, and I was so spun around by it I got this weird floaty feeling like I was flying. It was such a strange/cool feeling and it lasted the whole ride back.

My answer would be surf related if it was about my "most thrilling/scariest" ride.

My home away from home.
Most fun day. This Independence Day ride. Our buddie got back from wake surfing with his kids and asked me and my son if we wanted to try flipping off his wake. We sacked up, went out and went for it. My son got a few 3/4 barrel attempts in and I got a few 3/4+ flip attempts in. It was soooo much fun. We just fed off each other til he messed up his shoulder. Awesome ride. Proud Pop and stoked for me at 42 almost getting one around. I'll get one around...

Second most fun day was riding with some of the O'Side Crew guys at O'Side. It was our first time in the surf. Scary and so much fun all at the same time.

-St. Joe river a week after I got 26 staples & 6 stitches on my shin, we plastic wrapped it up with some paper towels, all it did was hold the water in after I got out.
