It is indeed a 240b. It's my second favorite machine gun after the m2. The 249 places last by far!

As much as I hate this place, during the last few day I started to appreciate its scenery. Just got pushed back another day though.. I had a feeling that was gonna happen. Anticipation isn't so bad this time, it was much worst my first deployment. We already have a training schedule for out next deployment in 2020, go figure.

Drink up guys, soon all the beer will be mine!

My favorite weapon system was the MK 19... holy balls it could release some hell. The only weapon system I never got to try was the M134. The only group I ever saw rolling around with that mounted on a HMMWV was NSW. It would suck to be on the receiving side of it, it looks like a dragon breathing fire at night.

As @Mike W said, the first give away that it's a 240b is the front sight post, m249 is a full circle. Second is the heat shield latch. The m249 hooks under two pins where as the 240b clips over the gas regulator.

I hope they are 240b's... Lol, I sign for 7 of them every day. I have 6 on fighting positions and 1 in my Toyota land cruiser.

The mk19 is a blast. Shooting it on a tripod is a fking riot. We are mounted cav. M2, 240b, and mk19 are our bread and butter.

I've never seen a m134 in person but the videos are ridiculous!

Definitely!!! Blanding has been my duty station for years. I retire this year and I start my permissive leave in May so I will be out there as much as possible. Shoot me a pm and I will give you the rundown of the place.

I loved shooting the Mk19 off the back of our ship in the Gulf! "Borrowed" a kawi couch from Kuwait Naval Base and shot that thing to pieces, then dragged it back and returned it to the scrap yard we found it in....
