We share the pond with 4 other neighbors and at least 2 of them thought it was floating trash. We have since spoken to all of them and explained what it is and they are all on board now and very jealous.
They want us to push it out further so they can all see it better but it's currently positioned so we can see it from our patio.

What keeps that hood in place, there is barely any lip at the hood seal area?

I’ll have to snap a pic of the hood- but the hood drops down about an inch into the opening. It’s very secure.
