i can deal with cold better when its not craping the white stuff every where
You kidding me? Driving in the snow is so so so so so much fun. Ebraking around turns in front wheel drive commuter cars, plowing through drifts in 4wd trucks, towing people out.. I love it, haha.

we dont get enough around here to be any fun it just screws up everything and no one can drive in it and our road crews dont know how to deal with it. we average a decent snow every few years at most. and most just freak out and empty the grocery stores like its a damn Armageddon. i can handle driving and making it a week or more if need be without running to the store for bread. its pretty pathetic really. and to add to it i live by the lake and we are lucky if a plow truck makes it on day 3 or 4 after it hits here.

Ahh okay. Yeah its much different here, but there are still a lot of stupid people on the roads. But a plow comes a couple times a day when we get a snowstorm in our subdivision.

I kept most of my cold weather gear but the one thing I really miss is a wood stove. Back home every home had one so we took it for granted. Down here, we got nothing.

I've been keeping my eyes open for a nice little camp stove just so we have something to keep warm or cook meals on should we ever loose power for an extended period of time.

Some people are devastated when the weather hits. Call me a little bit sick but I love it.

i would love a wood stove, sad thing is my home owners insurance will more then double if i add one to our house. takes any cost savings away :(
whats real bad is everything in our house is electric no natural gas either down here in my area. my neighbor has offered me a very high end wood stove and all the ss pipe to add to our house. i can probably get away with it for a year or two, but once state farm comes out and finds out i have it my insurance will go through the roof. really sucks because i would heat, cook etc.. on it

I love the snow. It is snowing like a bastard here right now. I don't understand all the people that live up here and bitch about the snow. If you don't like it...MOVE!!! Of course these are typically the same people that sit on their a$$es in front of the TV from October thru April and never even go out to 'play' in the snow. We finally got some decent snow Friday and I did 6 miles thru the woods on snowshoes this past Sunday morning and it was the best time I've had since riding season ended. I will probably play hooky from work tomorrow **cough** **cough** and see if I can do ten miles through the new powder that is falling right now. :)

Stumbled across this...Chipotle is re-opening and trying to make it up to people by giving out free burritos.

That's why I was looking for a stand alone camp style wood stove that I could set up on the back patio.

Something big enough to boil water on and cook basic meals but not so big that it consumes a lot of material.

You can find these in the $75 to $125 range all day long.
