Im from Nebraska so I know how you feel, been here 13 years now. For me after hunting season, then Christmas/new year, then Superbowl and no more football, all there was to look forward to was 3-4 more months of cold weather. But it looks like the midwest has quite a bit of warm weather this winter. I know winters are not what they used to be.
I would never get rid of your set up you have now. It looks like your place is awesome, love looking at your pics. Just find a place someday that can you escape for the winter.
Someday I would like to find a place(cabin @ Flagstaff, AZ in mountains) to get away for the monsoon season here during July-Sept(110+ and humid..yuck).. Someday...someday!
In a perfect world I would like to keep my place here and have one somewhere else to. If money was no object I would have a few places scattered around and a place in Europe.

Next step... A bacon weave.Been doing construction work last couple weeks. With the snow I've been inside last two days. This was my first attempt at a pie. And if I don't burn it I think it came out pretty good.

I've done bacon weaving. Makes for a killer blt sandwich. I don't have right now or I probably would. When I'm stuck in the house i tend to cook a lot. We had a few pie crust in the freezer so thought I would give this a shot. Thinking about making another quiche to. This time a spinach and sausage with mushrooms, onions and green peppers.
We ate all but two pieces of the one I made yesterday and that was breakfast this morning.
Wishing I had gone to culinary school instead of engineering.
