So I was watching Extreme Machines on the History Channel today and they were doing a special on boats. I believe the show was made in the late 90's and part of the show was on standups. They had Lloyd Burlew riding freestyle on a roundnose. He was doing your typical flatwater tricks with the occassional barrel roll and he mentioned that barrel rolls were the latest and greatest trick out and that it would be setting the standard for freestyle. From the looks of it, it appeared he was riding without any footholds or lifters.
Anyways I figured by then footholds were already being made or people had at least started making their own from scratch. So what's the history behind footholds? Who and when started making their own and then what company and when did they first start mass producing footholds?
