Other Where do you stash you keys

Where do you guys stash your keys when your at the lake? Last weekend I had my ignition/door key inside my wetsuit and I lost it somehow??? I had to get onstar to open my truck to get my condo keys get picked up by my dad. Drive and hour each way to get another truck key. I now have a spare wired under my truck. This weekend I zip tied it to my lifejacket. lol

I do the same thing and usually keep 2 keys on the truck.

I have been looking at another option which is a wireless keypad that can be programmed for your vehicle and attached almost anywhere. It's waterproof and can be operated with wet gloves on.

If I'm in my F-350 they get left in the cab since it has keypad entry. If I have the Jeep I just leave them with my stuff on the beach. Probably not the smartest thing (faith in my neighbor) but its been ok so far. In a B1 you can put your keys under the seat, standup the key can be placed in a water tight container strapped to tank or battery. You could also plexus a small water tight container to the hull to hold your key.

Look on ebay you get magnetic key cases that you can put anywhere under your car

Or I stick it in my engine bay in a pouch

i either keep a truck key in the hitch compartment, just in front of my receiver i have some room for a hidden key there... or zip tie a key to the D-ring on my life vest. havent lost one with the zip tie yet

I'm thinking Im gonna go get non chipped keys cut. Strap one to my lifejacket and put one under the hood of each of my skis under the gas tank straps. Then if they get lost its not my chipped key to start the truck. I'm not a fan of those magnetic boxes because my truck does get 4x4ed and a buddy lost his a couple of years back.

put the keys in the fire extinguisher compartment. leave the keyless entry thing in the truck just in case water gets in the holder.

Anyone that stashed their key with the vehicle is begging for it to get heisted. Turn on the alarm throw remote under seat close door key in wetsuit or shorts.

I leave them in my truck if somebody steals it they obviously need it more than i do

I used to do that until last year when some ass stole my truck! Now everything gets locked and when were out on the skis I stash my keys etc in other places than inside the truck

I usually put them under my bed liner. Or, in my tool box, but not with something worth stealing...

It depends on the area and where I am riding.

Drypak works great. I keep my phone in them and can operate the smart phone through them. Submersible. I kept my phone in my pocket at adventure island one day in one for 6 hours, submerged for up to 1hr at a time in the lazy river. No problem as long as the gasket is good.

The clamp is pretty big, so it has to be stored somewhere. I used to have one made by Aquapack that had a much smaller seal, and I would wear it under my vest infront of my chest with the strap around my neck.

You can also get the key lock like the real estate agents put on door knobs for $30 and lock it to your hitch where your chains clip like a pad lock, and it can only be removed by opening it.

You can have a key cut that doesn't have a chip in it and just spray it off with carb cleaner when you get back.

They also make gas caps with combo locks in them. Here's one example... http://rescuecap.com/

Don't hide it in the fuel fill (unless you have a gas cap key holder) because thats the default place to put it. 1st place I'd look for a key.
