Who has made their own beach cart, where did you get wheels, what works and what doesn't?

All the carts I've used the roleez or wheeleez wheels work the best ,expensive but woprk well. I am looking for a set myself so if you find anything let me know

My brother and friend have each made a beach cart, both with similar design. One guy used wheel barrow wheels and the other used a wider turf tire that can be found on lawn tractor front wheels.

The best wheel by far out of those two is surprisingly the wheel barrow wheel. The turf tires are great on hard surfaces but really bog down in deep sand. The narrower wheel barrow wheel is far superior to the turf tire in the deep sand. It glides through with much more ease.

I initially thought the turf tire would do better in sand because it was wider, but quickly found the narrower wheel barrow tire to be much better. The turf tires are also much heavier.

i'm going to keep that in mind when i make mine, thanks! did you use the inflatable one or the non inflatable?

thats what i have to figure out lol, i work at a golf course and we have about 40 tires sitting in the back. daaaammmnnn what axle?

Best beach cart ever. Very easy to make. Lil wheels 5 bucks each. Big wheels off ebay for 25 bucks, and a hand crank, then have it galvanized like I did.

no, but it can be hooked to an ATV

quickmick that look's awesome, definatley an innovative design I built a beach cart in the past but I did not have the experience of how it all work's at a race with the launching and where your vehicle has to be parked until the sammammish event . we attended in june the crab, john, chris, gasgas showed us what it's all about that cart of your's look's well thought good job man.

i made one out of two wheel barrel tires, 2X10 and some scrap steel. kinda ugly but it cost me 0 and it works

Don't know if you have a Northern Tool there, but they sell the tires and wheels that are fat just like the ones that come on the carts. I built one and used a go-cart axle that they sell also. They have both the single locknut that goes on the end of the axle like a wheel barrrow, and the regular hub assembly which in my opinion is too heavy.

I was thinking the other day about making one out of large EMT conduit,with a long enough piece it could all be bent out of one piece with a tubing bender,drill a hole for the axle add wheels,a piece in the center with all thread through it and go.

don't buy really knobby tires. they dig into the sand and make it harder to pull.
