If I was a judge, I'd lower someone's score if I saw there ski cruising across the lake on it's own while the rider is bobbing in the water. Regardless of whether time had just expired or not. It's kinda funny, I'm not bashing the guy, he's got skills. His tricks did some good air.

Kenny, when the last horn blows, your time is up. It does not matter what you do, it does not effect your scoring. Do you know what one of our Current National Champions signature tricks use to be at the end of his routine. A back flip dismount right at the buzzer ending the routine. You do not land on your ski................... Hence, it does not hurt your score.

First trick at 0:56. The judges may of not scored him on it because it wasn't big and maybe the aspect to the judges made it hard for them to see it. I thought it was a one footer lander. However the announcer did call it from the stands.

Your time starts with your first trick. It does not matter how big or small it is. Use to time started when you raised your hand to signal your starting, years later it changed to your first trick started the clock.

Really crappy windy rough water, setup wakes were disappearing. Amateurs had tough conditions for 'flatwater' competition.

get out and ride
I was not very impressed with D's routine because he only did 3 tricks and added to them and i feel thats not a world champ material, that is just my 2cents. But i must say he deserves it for all his hard work and training!!!

If you were there and saw how bad the water was, you'd change your mind. I couldn't do half the tricks I trained for, but I did what I could in the conditions. Besides, most of us only did a handful of tricks, but I never did the same trick twice, they were always a different variation of a trick I did before.

Smart riding by lil D in the ridiculous conditions for Havasu, look at the whitecaps in background of the picture below . The judges were mainly made up of former freestyle riders.

I'm impressed you could hang onto that ski in that rough water for 2 min. I got a chance to ride it Sun night and it frickin' rips! It pulls just as hard as the XS1000 I rode.

Those were nightmare conditions out there, made it feel like my ski was glued to the water (more so than usual lol)

never understood all the arm waiving in flatwater freestyle... no other sport do people call "I made a trick" w/ an arm pump. It's like they know they didn't make it and are trying to convince otherwise... D just went out and rode hard w/o all the lame arm pumping. He had good variations and did stuff I have never seen anyone do in tough conditions. That's how you do it.
