i can totally understand where you're coming from bro, i would be upset also..i do believe in forgiveness and second chances though..have you called him and had a talk with him about how you feel?

Every single company out there has negative feedback and people that arent happy with them. Your best bet is to go with whatever company you personally feel comfortable with. If it were me trying to make the decision, I would call each one that you are thinking of then make a choice after hearing what each oen has to say. To some people spending that kind of money on a motor is a big deal, so check the options and go with who you like and who you think will build the best motor in the range you are looking.

I like your support for him. And I love what he does and has done for the sport.. All the freerides, ect. Helping people. But how would you feel if he strung you along like me? Could you put it aside and send him $1000 and motor parts?

Are you saying that YOU personally sent him $1,000 and all your motor parts..... Just trying to clarify???:thinking:

Scott, (Bombthreat) Sorry your troubles are continuing. Let me put a little insight into this from my side……………..

Sometime in April, I received a call from you asking if I did dome work for a stroker motors. Which I responded yes. You stated you had just purchased a 5mm stroker motor used & wanted to change some things. (Also included this in a note when you sent me your parts) Ok, I would need to have the original head to copy from as to not make un-necessary mistakes…… you sent the parts
On 5/22/07 I received your parts, At that point I assessed what needed to be done & contacted you directly to confirm. It was decided that the depth of cut would make a Riva dome exceptionally thin & the chance of cracking would be too great, I suggested going to a ADA head, as the domes are much more substantial… agreed!
I quoted you a price of $365 for the girdled head kit complete & a cost of $20 per dome for the special machining required, total to you including return shipping $427.00
Job was completed & shipped DHL on 6/12/07

Sometime on the week of 6/18, you contact me back stating the compression was in the 135 range??? OK, I said, let’s see where the problem is… I ask you to perform a squish test…. Way out of spec? We determined that the person who supplied you with the motor, used a .040 head gasket, where there shouldn’t have been. When I cut the domes, I included the gasket dimension, as part of the total depth? I told you to keep the domes & feel free to run the motor, as all that will happen is it will run underpowered with low compression, at least you can ride. I purchased new domes and but did not charge your for those.

At this point I didn’t have blanks in stock & needed to order more in, That & I was to be going on Vacation the following week, 3 weeks were lost…. It was during the busy season and therefore the turn around was a bit slower than before when I shipped it in June….. It happens and I apologize for that!
I ask Scott numerous times for the dimension the piston rises above the deck? I was looking for a good set of dimensions to work from. At this point, any outcome will depend on what he gives me? Domes are cut & shipped
Here is the crazy part, I ship the new domes DHL, and the domes arrive at the address I was given, but were Refused at the door????? Scott calls to see where his domes are & I track it & here this? Domes arrive back to me about a week or so later & I reship to same address priority mail….. Same issue ???? By this time over a month goes by & he still doesn’t have his parts…
I refuse to ship back, until he gives me an alternate address so this doesn’t happen again. He gave me a different address and I ship his parts back to him on 9/5

I never heard anything back from him until now………..

In conclusion, there are several things in hindsight that could be effecting what has gone wrong. I was told this was a 5mm stroke motor? This post is stating 4mm???
Scott is stating .12 squish??? What is that? MM? Inches? Don’t you mean .012” ??? This is why I asked several times what the measurements were?? In hindsight, I should have made sure you were able to take the measurements needed………

I’m sorry you feel like you never want to deal with me again? Of course that is your choice. But with all my work, I stand behind it.
If you will take squish measurements, along the Piston pin line, on both sides of each piston, along with marking the solder, as to position, send me the domes & the solder, I will recut your domes & send them back, no charge!

Wrong, I always had to call you. You phoned me all of maybe 2-3 times through the entire ordeal. Also the parts were shipped I believe April 26th or 27th. Go with that and you'll see there is one part of the no communication periods.

It was never told by you to keep the domes, you asked for me to ship them back. I didnt. I wouldnt run the ski with 135psi anyway. It was doggy and most likely not good for it with the timing ect. You asked about the gasket and the riva head that was orginally used had the stock gasket. The head did not use a o-ring and you knew this becasue the head I sent you had the gasket still stuck to it.

Yeah I remember that. There wasnt any communication from you, other then it was suppost go get done in 2 weeks. I had to call you, by the time I did you were going on vacation... Tough luck for me I guess.

.083 is the number, I took the messurments over and over to be sure.

Post the tracking numbers for all the times they were shipped. B/c i never got any from you when asked.

You knew it was a 4mm stroke instead of a 5mm like I orginally thought. Thats how we came to the conclusion the first set of domes were way too deep. I took the measurments just as you instructed. I may not know a ton about building motors but I can follow instructions. Even so, why would one piston by 230 and the other 240 with the current domes. Its not a bad piston, the other head has 215 on both.

I've been calling around the engine shops and all seem to know their stuff and priced around the same.. I want to know your real opinions on them and if you know of any other places worth your recommendation. The engine will be for freestyle/rec use and get full porting for a stroked motor.

You may not have figured out which builder to use, but I think it's safe to say you know who NOT to use!!!:nono:

This is great... Guy riding 2 hrs, like half my crew... Thats Great for the sport !

I did not post this... But for a sponsored Riders motor.
It was an 84.5 mil BB, and after like 30 hours, it craped out
and when I measure the cyl. it was 85... and I dropped an 85 mil piston in the cyl... fit but still needed the clearance.

You think for a sponsored rider, you would at least even check things you put out... I dont see this suprising, but Sad !

For all you that have LPW motors, Good luck !
