I forgot!
A dyno seems like a compression gauge. Everyone reads alittle bit different but if your checking front to back and it's only 23 psi different , who cares.

I have been doing instrumentation for 20 yrs now and have always found instrument readings to be be very subjective, thus my disinterest in the dyno numbers.

IMO, a Dyno is ultimately just a very expensive way to read more or less than a pre-defined reference point.

Agree with that , but as long as its got repeatability that one dyno can be used to measure alot of engines on the same day. Its when you try to measure different engines on different dynos its of limited use.

If you have a look every one is talking about a dyno testing day for all engines. I thought thats been clear from the outset.
If your buying a kit / long block you want to know what your getting. Not just some ones opinon of what is best. Facts are what is important

Is all I know is that my dyno (my weiner) really loves my Lamey/Art Gomez ported motor. I get wood everytime I snap the trigger!!!

Ditto! For A LOT less then a shortblock from one of the other motor builders. My complete rebuild, new carbs, reeds, intake manifold, domes, pistons, crank rebuild, porting, setting up my totaloss an assembling my motor cost probably a third of some of the other companies shortblocks. Plus all I had to do is drop it in, no messing with jetting, came with the right prop for my setup.

So I thought waxhead was running DASA stuff at one time. Has he switched to Xcream?

He knows so dam much he should start producing his own line of parts. Oh wait, it's hard to produce parts while on the keyboard 24/7 bashing everyone that is producing parts! LOL
