Any suggestions on what mile marker to set up camp? We will be there thurs. afternoon, getting a luv-to-camp trailer - need to know where to set it??? Who else will be there then?

I would suggest setting up camp in front of a good surf break as well as a good camping spot. There are a number of good breaks along the beach. If you are driving south on the beach the easiest way to find the best breaks is to look on your left for a hill close to the beach. That hill usually continues out under the beach and under the waves. That underwater hill sets up the best waves. Of course the surfers are also looking for the best breaks so don't pick a break with a lot of surfers on it. I'd say there are about 6 good breaks along the beach.

So based on the last 2 posts... Is there a known good surf break (hill) anywhere near the entrance to the camping area? I'm only there once or twice a year, so I don't remember.

its all the same man, theres no spot on the beach that breaks better. it depends on the direction of the swell, but usually the camp area is a foot bigger but also sloppier and inconsistent that up by first entrance.
