I got my first ride on a modded SJ this week, now I must have one. It belongs to CPR man over on JSN, and Robert Sand did the motor work. I feel like dirt under the rug still riding 650's, had no idea that you could get that much low end hit from any boat. So much power the boat feels like it weighs almost nothing. My brother just bought a new 05, and I am thinking by fall or next spring to find a new one or a fully tricked out one. Among you guy's, who has the hotrod of SJ's?

Chris Riley's is a 701, right? You need to get on a Lamey stroker, parrdaddy's, steve802cc's, any of Tricky1's fleet, Magoo's, freestylegeek's, RMBC's ADA (or Able, can't remember), etc etc.

Heck, Pancakepete's Magoo 760 would probably rock your world too. I should know in a week when I get mine up and running.

Other than one of the boats that a sponsor builds, among the riders in this thead or on the forum. One of us regular guy's.

That would be a very, very, very long list. There are a ton of "regular" guys here that have arm-ripping SJ's.

Paul is a regular guy just like us. He just took the hobby to the next level lol. I have a magoo ported 760 and it rips. Go to lanier, you will need arm surgery after trying all the different skis.

Yep that would be Riley's. I absolutly loved the thing, exept for the size 18 footholds, they are so big they hit me in the ankle's. He claims it is about 110 hp right now, the trottle response is instant yet predictable. It comes out of the water with just a blip of the throttle, a very nice setup and good looking paint to boot. If I can find a boat that runs like this near the end of the year, I'll probably buy it. If not, I will find a newer round nose and build it over the winter.

Yea, I was thinking about the new stock one he has now, but have him set it up before shipping it out west.

I rode one of tricki1's boats with a stock stroke lamey and didnt even have to ride the stroker to realize mine wasnt crap. Man Theres alot of hard hitting boats out there. And Probably alot more no one knows about. Me and my friends have been building skis for years. We just never raced and didnt find the boards till last year. Im sure theres alot of people like us except with money. And then theres the people that keep it secret:sneaky:(You know who you are)

What I should do is start a thread for recomended mods to reach a certain power level and how much money it takes to get there. Obviously it might not break the bank to get to 100hp, but at certain power levels you have to do so much more to keep it all together and reliable. It becomes a balance between $$$$$ and cost effective upgrades. Im sure we would all like to own the build off boat, but not too many of us can justify spending that much on a toy.
