thought I would mess with Win7 today and I don't know why but its running ALOT better then it was. Before it was ungodly slow but now its running fine.. Didn't change a thing either
So far I gotta think that is not true at all. It no longer uses MBR and it adds a 200MB partition that communicates with the motherboard bios during boot.
It is very new and very different except for maybe what we see.
I never thought I would be one of those geeks screaming for the good old days of Windows 98 but I think I am really gonna miss XP. It is just hard to beat its smallness and simplicity and it works perfectly with everything I have ever ever done.
I know I know. But we were not freaking out about it the way were are about this. Vista is a massive pig...no doubt about it.
It can be tamed but they should have not shipped this way.
Yea that is the sweet combo no doubt. How do you like SP3? I have never installed it on anything.
Put in a DOS bootable floppy and type in "fdisk"...hey matt what are the tweaks for vista to make it run better? Any links for good reading on doing it?
I've also been trying to figure out what doesnt need to be running constantly since vista seems to think it needs every program in the world to run at startup but cant figure out which ones should stay.
No issues here as well, great platform. Just don't use the IE7, too many bugs still. Use Firefox or IE6 if you are Microsoft bound.Runs great. I got zero issues.
I still regret I allowed my wife to "recycle" the original box with all 6 floppies and two fat books in it. I think the "Turbo C", "Delphi 1.0", and some of Stephen King's novels were gone as well as a part of the routine clean-up.I"m going back to:
